Great copy stand and an awesome seller. If there's a problem, they fix it!
I love my copy stand, and the seller is wonderful! If there's an issue, they fix it, STAT.I received the copy stand quickly. It was easy to put together. All was going well until I went to screw the vertical arm on. Unfortunately, there was a manufacturing error. The screw hole in one of the square vertical poles was misaligned by about 1/4 of an inch.I wrote them and informed them of the issue and I had a response 5 hours later. They said, no worries, we'll send you a replacement part immediately, and they did just that. They mailed the replacement a few hours later! It's arrived I am very pleased. It's a nice item and, again, Goshot is awesome. In future, I'll be ordering my photo & electronic equipment from them. They were very easy to deal with.

Perfect for my purposes
For years I've wanted a copy stand for macro photography of collector coins but never was willing to invest the money. I've always used mocked up tripods and cardboard cutouts and my photos showed it. I finally purchased this setup. It is perfect for my purposes after adding a couple of daylight bulbs. For the price, the quality of workmanship is excellent and I am 100% satisfied. I'm just beginning to experiment with various illumination techniques but already the photographs are excellent and the stand facilitates the efficiency of the photography session, taking much less time to photograph a group of coins.

I like this, but it's only adequate
I was looking for a copy stand that I could set up and put away quickly, and this one does that. As a copy stand, it's adequate, and nothing great. It fits on the small space I have on my desk to do all the work, which includes writing, journaling, painting, inking, as well as holding my keyboard and mouse for computing. So everything I do has to pack away to make room for anything else. The copy stand does that. The stands for the lights are sort of a clamp-on thing but they still fit through specific holes in the back. Thus, when I have this on the desk, the stage is slanted downwards at a significant enough angle that I have to careful about what I set on it.

Surprising quality, but still a few stumbles
Surprisingly better than I had thought..Pros: Nice base, metal pieces. Feet that screw in and not self-stick or nail. Clamps for the lights are metal. Quality cords and switches.. Plus Manfrotto compatible?Cons: Center column seems to have been made in a completely different factory. Metal column, gear and teeth plastic. Quality control problems.Easily put together my Albinar copy stand in about 20 minutes. Screwed the column into the base using supplied wrench that is a size too big but still worked. Screwed the feet into the particle board base. Was surprised in the metal light stand clamps. There are still a bunch of plastic parts, but the parts you'd expect to break after a few uses were metal. The plastic teeth and gear on the center column are certainly a bummer. I plan to set it and forget it so mine shouldn't get much wear. Worst case scenario I thought someone with a gear problem could rip the tooth strip out and drill a few holes in the side of the column and use a bolt or pin to keep it together. Or maybe even a clamp. I found a screw leftover, that was the safety screw for the back of the column. Mine wasn't covered when it was painted so I had to use pliers to force the screw into the nut. Eventually I got all the way through, back and forward a few times and a drop of oil so that I can disengage the safety screw if I have to take it on the road. I take pliers with me anyway.Be careful opening the lights, they have paper wadded the holes for the crossbeam supports. Taking this paper out may cause the tension plate to fall out. It's easily put back in, but be ready for it so you don't lose it. Why it wasn't in the bag with the parts I'll never know. Now, for someone looking at the quick release and thinking 'That looks like a Manfrotto plate'. Well, it is, though my plate had to be turned around. Still better to loosen a plate and spin it around than completely remove and replace plates. I still may put a piece of gaffers tape or two in the receptacle to tighten it up.

Excellent product
This really does the job for copying photos, text etc. It is sturdy and holds my Canon 5D3 securely. It easy enough to put together (the directions aren't great but it's pretty evident how it goes together after a few minutes of effort. It seems to work just as I hoped it would. I'm sure there are bigger, heavier and more expensive units but this is perfect for my purposes.
