With this C&M salt and pepper set on your table, mere beans and frankfurters would seem like a gourmet meal! This set is well-made, and it operates superbly (the salt and peppercorns are ground evenly); I suspect that I will be using it for quite some time. (It would be wonderful, if C&M offered a complementary oil and vinegar cruet set.)

This set looks very nice on my stove. They grind both salt and pepper very smoothly. They hold a descent amount of salt and pepper. Seems like they will last for years. I have only 2 slight cons: P and S on top got a little greasy and wiped off, they are not imprinted permanently, so I cleaned them well and used a permanent marker to replace the letters. That worked very well. The other thing is the top section. The inside gripper that keeps them on loosened up so if they are shaken to get any extra salt or pepper off the bottom, the top tends to fly off. Not good if you are making soup! I try to be a little more gentle with them.

Very nice, high quality! Now if all our guests could figure out to turn the top vs. taking it off and dropping it into their food. LOL Yes, this has happened several times. Maybe our family and friends just aren't that smart...

I really liked the appearance of these and the color was perfect for my kitchen but there was hardly any room for salt or pepper inside. One had a totally different wood-grain texture than the other so it didn't absorb the gray stain as well, so the color was a bit off but still nice. Also the plastic gift box was broken because it arrived in a bubble envelope instead of a cardboard box and was crushed at some point during shipping. I couldn't make up my mind about whether or not I was going to return them but finally decided I didn't want to be filling them frequently so went with a larger set that admittedly does not look as good on my marble counter top.

Easy to put salt in and the salt comes out in a fine grain.

I found them attractive and worked well at first. They didn’t hold much and hard to fill. My salt mill broke about the 2 year mark. I didn’t think it would be under warranty and tossed it. Later I looked at when I purchased them and they were just over the 2 year mark. Sad to say but I thought I had them longer and had I determined how long I owed them I would of checked on what the warranty would of provided Cole and Mason are supposed to be a quaility brand. I don’t know if I will give them another try.

Although the design is beautiful, the top keeps popping off as you grind the salt and pepper, spilling peppercorns everywhere.

These salt and pepper grinders look lovely and have very good precision, so you only need to give them a gentle twist. Very nice, can recommend.
