Dakine Prima 5L Toiletry Kit

After much research (I wish i was kidding) I ordered this to replace a soft side mini tote that I used for toiletries but the zipper had broken. The Dakine Prima 5L is about the same size of the one I'm replacing, and the fabric is a little more sturdy/structured. In fact, the bottom has a hard plastic insert to keep it firm. With that intact, the bottom is rigid and about 5" wide and would not easily adapt to smooshing when packed. What i liked about my older toiletry tote was that it had no hard sides and adapted to what it was packed with. So i made a slice in the material inside and pulled the plastic insert out of the Dakine. The fabric is still thick/stiff so it will stand up on the counter or hang on a hook and still hold the contents even without the plastic insert. The worst thing about the Dakine Prima was deciding what color to buy! I ended up getting the Cortez and it's really pretty.What it fits: Regular sized shampoo/conditioner and body lotion, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush (even electric), face cleanser and cream, and probably even a travel sized flatiron will fit in this along with my makeup bag and my misc bag that contains bandaids, hair bands, safety pins, misc cold and pain meds, laundry stain sticks, lint roller, shower laundry line,and all the other random travel necessities i keep in this bag. It's big enough for your stuff but not crazy ridiculous big. It was listed in a travel blogger's article on the 10 best toiletry bags of 2018 - and I have to agree!

I thought this bag was going to be a lot bigger and was really contemplating on returning it. But I was getting ready to take a 2 week trip and decided to see how much it can really hold. I was able to fit the following items in the bag:1 - 8.9 oz can of hairspray1 - 5.5 oz can of antifriz spray2 - 12 oz bottles of contact solutions1 - 2.6 oz Secret deodorant1 - 3 fl. oz bottle of body spray3 travel size bottles (shampoo,body lotion, conditioner)1 - 1.8 oz can of sun tan lotion1 toothbrush1 Tube of toothpaste1 razorand the bonus, I was able to fit my full size straightener in the bag as well!Surprisingly it all fit, and zipped up very easily. I didn't have to ask someone to help zip it up or force it to close.It also fit in the pocket of the DAKINE 65L split level luggage

I love this bag! I bought this for a weekend getaway to carry my hair products that are in full size bottles (I'm picky about my products and didn't want to put the effort into making them travel size!) and it fit everything I needed. and more. I was able to fit full-sized bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hairspray, as well as a travel hair straightener and a travel can of shaving cream. In the plastic pouch included, I additionally put 3 small bottles of face washes/products, The little pockets on the side were a nice touch for other small bottles and I just packed some advil, just in case. The design is adorable and the material is high quality. I just wish there was a slightly larger and sturdier purse version of this!

I bought this bag to match my luggage set, which are amazing. I LOVE this bag. It is wise enough to fit makeup pallets but deep enough to put deodorant in one of the interior side pockets and still zip without the awkward bulge sticking up. The handles are easy to carry and it is really well made. My eyepencil sharpener opened up inside of it and it was very simple to clean and looks brand new. I originally thought that the clear plastic bag that is included would be useless, but it is actually very handy to hold things that have the potential to leak or if you need some extra separation. There are only a few interior pockets and the snap in clear bag so if you are looking for something with a ton of pockets this might not be for you, but I love it and have nothing but good things to say about it.

So, this bag is much smaller than I had anticipated. I have a really large toiletry bag that I have used for a long time, and I'm usually able to fit everything I need for a family of 5 in it. It's an off-brand one though and is really starting to show it's age, so I bought this Dakine bag to replace it. I can tell the Dakine bag is MUCH sturdier than my old bag, and I like the plastic insert inside for liquid or wet things. I'm going to keep this Dakine bag but I'm also going to have to keep my old toiletry bag for my kids' stuff. I do like the look of the Dakine bag, and I know for sure I'll be able to fit everything I need for myself in it.

Great toiletry bag for traveling. I can fit a lot in there, although the plastic "waterproof" section is pretty small. I generally put smaller bottles of liquids in a ziplock bag and put that back inside this one.I like that the zipper zips ALL the way open on both sides, all the way down to the base of the bag. Makes it a lot easier to get stuff in and out than most of my makeup/toiletry bags.

After 23 years with my hard-sided plastic toiletry case - I decided it was time to join the decade and move to a more practical bag! After EXTENSIVE searching to replace my dear old friend... I decided on the DaKine Prima Travel Bag. (I picked the Kala print because it had that "vacation feel" I was looking for - AND the inside is a simple solid peach color, as opposed to some of the other prints.)I've never owned a DaKine product before - but it appears they live up to their reputation. The bag is extremely well made - has a semi-ridged bottom, two elasticized side pockets, and a large clear plastic zippered bag inside that's attached with Velcro. The prima bag seems to be the perfect size for my needs - and thanks to the design, I love how you can SEE and access everything easily! As one reviewer commented, the included clear plastic bag is very stiff - but I think it only adds some needed structure to the bag. Only time will tell how long it'll hold up...All-in-all, I'm very pleased with the new bag! And as always, Amazon shipped the item VERY quickly and everything was packaged VERY well. Amazon remains my FIRST online stop! : )
