Awesome helmet!
I do not weld or work as a professional welder who does production work for several hours a day. I do have a small fabrication shop and in many cases will need to weld a of a couple hours a day. Over my years of welding I have had several different helmets ranging in quality from name brands like Hobart and Miller to inexpensive Asian brands. I recently experienced eye surgery and wanted to get a quality helmet with enough room for eye glasses. I did a lot of research and selected this helmet. It is fantastic! Lightweight great field of vision. Easy to use controls. Extremely comfortable. The grind function is great and the various weld settings allow a wide range of adjustments to suit your vision. I'm able to able to see weld puddles much clearer with this helmet making my work a lot easier and in my opinion better quality. This helmets clarity has made a definite improvement with my TIG work. I know this helmet is expensive compared to many others but I have seen a marked Improvement in the quality of my work. I have also experience less eye fatigue at the end of a welding session. I feel this is a good quality safe helmet. The way I look at it you only have one pair of eyes so anything that helps protect them is worth the investment.

Best all around, full featured and comfortable lid on the market.
I love this helmet. I couldn't decide between this and the Panoramaxx so I bought both. This one has killer head gear with the ability to fine tune the tightness for an excellent tight fit that doesn't squeeze your brains out and give you the killer pressure headache with other ratcheting tightening systems. It also has in and out adjustment so you can pull it away from your face to fit a face mask if you need or make it very close for the best visibility. View area is good, but I wish this had the Panoramaxx area. Responsive shade and memory functions so you can easily setup profiles for each welding type you're doing. I also LOVE that it comes with multiple extra lenses in both clear AND yellow. Every other helmet you have to buy them separately so I really appreciated that. Haven't had it flash me and the arc sensors are very fast acting don't have to close your eyes while you strike up an arc. Also comes with a very decent helmet bag, not a crappy ones that tear if you look at it wrong. I actually use it. All in all, this is a 100% buy for pros, hobbyist or anyone else who needs a great fitting, well kitted out helmet. I do recommend this over the Panoramaxx for a few main reasons - one, better adjustability. The ratchet system on the Pano isn't fine enough and it's always too loose or too tight. My head is between the adjustment. This one let's you fine tune it for the perfect firm grip and distance from your face. And it's comfy! Second, this comes with extra lenses both inside and outside. Everyone else makes you buy them separately and this you're getting 4 extra with the box! Both yellow and clear. Third, this has a detent that keeps the lid up when you're not using so you're not constantly having to pull it back up while not welding. It stays up great and a firm flick of the head is enough to overcome the detent and cover up. Last, the sensors are great. They don't turn on when you look at a light nor does it flicker. The color is great and the shade works like a champ. Definitely buy this guy. You'll be mega happy you did.

Comfort and clearity like you’ve never seen for cheaper than the copetition
I have used this hood for a few months now. I use it professionally every day. I must say, this is hands down, the best hood for your money. I’ve owned miller elite autos with XL window that cost close to 500$ that didn’t have nearly as many features as the A50. The best feature is ESABs 5 point head band system. It really helps the hood stay planted to your head, even when flipped up and the head band is extremely comfortable. Way more than any miller hood I’ve tried. It’s also adjustable how far or close it sits to your face when down. The ratchet is rubber coated and very big; easy for a gloved hand to quickly access and the mechanism is very fine and precise giving you complete control over tension of the head band. The A50 has a very simple LCD touch screen. All perameters are easily accessible. It’s even got a grind button on the front for when you need to grind. There’s a slot inside for magnifiers for you old timers. The auto darkening works flawlessly and welds with a bluish color under the hood. The wrap around lense is very nice. I’ve outfitted mine with a stream light and some adhesive tape and it works great! Very very happy with this hood and it also looks super slick as well. Get one and be prepared to be amazed at the comfort and clearity!

Comfortable and Work Great
I have been welding for about 15 years now, not professionally. I've usually stuck with a cheaper helmet because I didn't see the need to drop $350 on a hobby. After using this one I really wish I had bought one sooner. I have bought 3 helmets in the past year and two of them were just trash. One was even like $150 and it flashed me so many times in one day of welding I got really fed up and bought this one. The quality and function is a pretty drastic difference. I am using this for about 95% TIG, 5% MIG. I have gone as low at 45 amps and this helmet has no problems dimming reliably, I have been flashed zero times so far. The touchscreen controls have also functioned well, but I also really don't adjust them very often. The viewing area is a little smaller than what I am used to but the clarity and color are way better than anything I have had before. The headgear is also extremely comfortable. I've worn this for a 3 or 4 hour stint crawling around under my car and I barely notice it. My old helmet would frequently give me headaches because I had to ratchet it down so tight to stay on my head when crawling around in various positions. The open detent is solid and stays up My only complaint is that I have to be more careful when putting it down because it will easily roll onto the front shield. But really with it being more comfortable, I find myself taking it off less.

A1 Headgear, Picture Quality, Responsive, Durable
This is an excellent hood. If you're on the fence, you should get it. The picture is insanely clear. It's like those HD lenses that sharpen everything lol you can see every little thing happening in your weld! Really only downside is that the replacement lenses are a bit pricey but you get 2 clear and 2 yellow so I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Also, it's super lightweight and sturdy. The touch screen is also really nice, very responsive like a phone. I weld for a fabrication shop and I'm beyond happy with this hood. I've let my friends weld with it and everyone loves it. I've welded with plenty Lincoln hoods and yeah they're nice but you're getting better technology and for a better price. Quality is undeniable. It doesn't feel cheap in any aspect.

Comfortable and easy to see your puddle
Ok, so I have used this for awhile now and have a couple complaints. First... the tension adjustment knobs need constant adjustment or it will "Lid Down" on you. Second, trying to push the Lid up is annoying at times cause there is nothing to grip on to so i end up scratching up the front lense lol. Sometimes i try to lower the hood only to realize its already down. I walk around with it on the whole time in at school/work since its so light. People constantly want to see it. Will buy again unless I end up using someone else's hood and its better somehow.

this helmet changed the welding game
It's unreal how clear it is when welding with the clear lenses, you see everything as if you didn't even have a helmet on. I had to adjust the shade higher than I usually have it with other helmets due to how clear it was. Felt like I was learning to tig weld all over again. The head gear is great but takes some trial and error to get it how you want it due to how adjustable it all is. feels very comfortable once you have it dialed in, the back strap has a nice pad that cups your head and doesn't feel like you're tightening a ratchet strap around your head like other helmets do. The helmet stays up until you flick your head, I haven't had it fall down on me unintentionally yet. The touch screen is super responsive, almost on par with an iphone honestly. adjusting the controls are easy and the preset function is useful. The grind button takes a good amount of pressure to press so you'll have to hold your helmet in place with one hand while you press the button with the other. The box came with a nice padded bag for the helmet, welding do rag, and 6 extra lenses which is nice because they seem to be pretty expensive. This helmet oozes quality, well worth the $300 price tag.

Worth Every Single Penny Spent
Great Helmet!!! - I am fairly new to welding and want to save money along the way. I have tried a cheaper helmet and within three days on my training, the helmet broke. The part that broke, was when you flip the helmet up and it locks into place. both sides of the mount broke. so I got a return and bought this helmet. I know this helmet can be a bit pricy but let me say it from the beginning. well worth the price. love the comfort on how it fits on my bald head. adjuster at rear to make it fit snug, exterior side adjusters for tension on when flipping up. The shader works perfect, digital interface which I truly do love. if I am grinding, press an exterior button so to deactivate the shader feature. Over all for me, this helmet is a 10 out of 10.
