Lecteur/Graveur Externe USB2 - DVD±RW (±R DL) / DVD-RAM

I keep a digital database recipe file. I have collected recipes in from around the world. I also have digital cookbook collections and an extensive library of cooking hints, data, conversion charts, etc. all in PDF format and well organized. It's my own personal collection. All total, more than 18,000 items by count, and more data than a standard CD or DVD will hold. But I do know, this data will easily fit on a movie style Dual Layer DVD disc. This unit is a DVD+RW -DL. So I keep my collection on a portable solid state "tetra" disc drive. The standard DVD+RW on my laptop does not write the capacity I need. Adding this drive, with a simple included USB cable was the perfect answer. Opening two file windows in my laptop and copying the contents from the tetra drive to this unit worked flawlessly. I can only imagine losing this data, but instead I now have a great backup solution to DVD disc. Also, there was a suite of editing software included, which I plan to load for editing film, music, data, etc. My next project will be to database the almost 600 DVD and Blu-ray titles I have stored in my home theater, along with several older VHS titles. I don't know how large this listing will be, but I am sure I can write it to a Dual Layer dDVD disc now. I am very pleased with this product.

I like that this disk comes with software. It loaded easily and worked the first time. Good product and good company to deal with.

Works alright, but a little shake or a movement makes it stop reading CD.

Really good service Efficient

I used the Dell Slim DW316 Disc drive in conjunction with my Dell Latitude Windows 11 5420 Laptop and EDIFIER speaker system coupled to a decent sized BENQ screen for playing DVDs and CDs and it works very well so up to now I am very pleased with the results. I initially tried a much cheaper external Disc drive but it lasted no more than a day before breaking down so after a bit of research and paying a bit extra it proved to be was well worth it in this case.
