Standard lightweight Safari Jacket, all details right
Fits mostly as expected, but nowadays that's somewhat roomy so be aware not to size up on these. 100% cotton means it will shrink, and since mine was a little big, I washed in hot water and used a hot dryer with good results. Sleeves and length shrunk almost an inch. If I had preferred the fit out of the box I would have just washed in cold and hang dried. Some reviewers have been surprised this jacket is more of a shirt-weight fabric and not a jacket you would wear for warmth, so keep in mind this Tag product is exactly what a Safari Jacket is supposed to be. Safari jackets were developed for tropical weather back when it was still not appropriate for a gentleman to be out and about in shirt sleeves, but for where it was too hot to wear a jacket over a shirt. So these were traditionally worn over an undershirt/singlet at most, buttoned up most of the way, with belt tying it all together. Very soon the Safari jacket overlapped use with the more military-in-origin Field Jacket style which were generally designed to be worn over a shirt, so the Safari jacket can go either way. I wear this over a business casual shirt in a high desert environment for business casual work situation where it's appropriate (but too hot) to wear some kind of jacket. This one is about as light in weight as it can be and still be substantial enough to look right. That means it might not be as durable as it could be in real bush wear, especially in dense or abrasive foliage. That doesn't stop me from wearing it in the outback desert where it functions as designed. So far the light all cotton fabric has held up fine.Safari jackets also became associated with (big game) hunting since that was a common pursuit of people buying them for overseas tropical travel. This Tag product has a couple hunting details--elastic cartridge holders in the tops of the hip pockets--but mostly a gesture to authenticity. The Khaki is a little more tan and a little darker than some will expect for Khaki, but is a good a functional color. I needed a second one, somewhat lighter, so I got the stone. Stone is a very good color but a little too light and bright for my uses so I used a little dye (2-to-1 tan and grey Rit) and now it's a good Khaki, a little lighter and less tan than the Tag Khaki, but very close.

Versatile, vintage jacket
This jacket is a faithful reproduction of the vintage Safari style jacket. It is incredibly lightweight and breathable, while remaining very stylish and versatile. As someone who lives on a tropical island, this jacket bridges the gap between nothing and an actual coat, perfect for sun protection during the day, and can be coupled with other undergarments to be warm on chilly nights. It is very easy to dress up or down, and I consider it an essential garment for those who like to dress nicely even in hot conditions, which is notoriously harder than in a colder climate. Some of the other reviews say that this garment is too thin, or seems of cheap quality due to its lightweight fabric. However, this jacket fits the bill in nearly every way, and is of sturdy construction and high quality. I purchased the Stone variant, as I believe this color is more in line with the vintage style, the actual product being an off-white, light-khaki color. For reference I am tall and of slender build, I ordered a large and am quite happy with the way it fits. No tailoring was needed.

Good materials, nice attention to detail
An all around, well made, quality product. Good materials, nice attention to detail.Understand that this is made from 5.5oz cotton, it is a "jacket" only in the sense that it provides sun, light wind, and brush protection. It is not intended to keep you warm- tobthe contrary, its intendedto offre some protection while keeping you cool... this is precisely what I was looking for.The fit was somewhat odd. The medium fit well in the shoulders and chest, a little long in the sleeves, and very long in overall length- the hem came to my lower thigh, a few inches above the knee.I exchanged it for a small, which was ok lengthwise, the sleeves are good... but a little snug in the shoulders, and tight in the chest if buttoned. Since I don't button such a garment, the latter doesn't really matter.

A jacket for two seasons.
I like this jacket. I like this company. The jacket that I originally ordered was way too big, it was an extra large and it swallowed me. I called the company and spoke to a very nice lady who made my return/exchange easy. I told her I wanted a size smaller and preferred the stone color to the khaki. The khaki was considerably darker than I expected. I received the replacement jacket and was very pleased with the color. The size is an issue however, it's smaller than I expected. The extra large swallowed mo but the large fits like a button up the front shirt. In all honesty the weight of the material is more like a heavy duty shirt than a jacket. I expect it will be quite comfortable in spring and fall with a light shirt underneath. The quality seems quite good and it's a great looking garment. I just wish it was just a little roomier. If you keep this in mind I believe you will be very happy with your purchase. It's sharp.

My husband loves this jacket.
He had been looking for a lightweight jacket to wear in humid Florida. This one fits well and is just what he wanted. It wad a little pricey for just cotton but it is well made in Africa.

Super quality, great fit
I like this thing so much I bought four of them! Compared to Cabelas Safari shirt, these are better, The stitching is better and the design is better. The large size fit the way I would expect large to fit, I am 6ft , 200 lbs. 44 inch chest, 34 waist fit was perfect.I haven't noticed any shrinkage but I'm not running these through a hot dryer...at least for now.The material is shirt like, not heavy.I ordered Khaki and Olive, the khaki is a little on the tan side but that's perfect for me.
