There is regular maca, and then there is gelatinized maca. This product gives you a therapeutic, 1500mg dose of gelatinized maca in each 2 capsule serving. Gelatinized maca is basically a 5:1 extract of maca. The raw maca powder undergoes a cooking process that removes all the starch - leaving you with a more potent and easier to digest maca. The Formulation: **1500mg organic gelatinized maca (black, red, and yellow varieties) - This is a great dosage, as clinical studies on maca typically use 1000-3000mg per day and have shown a range of benefits from energy levels to bedroom-type improvements. It's also nice that they use a blend of 3 varieties, because the different maca colors each have slightly different effects and benefits. **5mg piperine - Black pepper extract can enhance nutrient absorption. Not sure it's necessary but doesn't hurt to add it. Thoughts: This is a full therapeutic dosage of gelatinized maca, in capsule form. I'm actually impressed they managed to fit 1500mg in just two capsules. I like that they use organic maca, and it's an excellent quality supplement. If you use this for a few weeks consistently, you can expect some improvements in mood, desire, and energy levels.

The medium-large capsules are easy to swallow when consumed with plenty of water. They have not taste, scent, or aftertaste. Made in the US and third-party lab tested for purity and potency. The twist-off cap was easy to remove as it is not child resistant. The lid was sealed with plastic shrink wrapping that was difficult to remove and required a sharp edge. The black plastic bottle was sealed with foam and is coded for recycling as type 1 resin. A reasonable price when offered at about $17 at the time of our review for a two-month supply.
