Plastic.
I was considering giving these one star when I opened the package and saw the knob is just plastic....but I gave it a chance. With some assistance (locking pliers) I was able to force it around the steering wheel of the Cub Cadet XT1. As it is, it the mount is kind of too round and I don't see it fitting on any steering wheel made in the last 40 years, especially not a wrapped one, without using pliers first. After the struggle with getting it installed, I was surprised how okay it is. It's not just okay.....It's good enough. It won't last for an entire season of mowing, for real. Either the plastic around the mount will crack apart or the shaft that goes into the knob will snap off. This is more of a novelty item and I should have known by the price alone. At least there are two. Maybe it will surprise me and be my favorite thing. I'll update this one way or the other.

Why buy one when you can get 2 at a better price? But not good for my tractor
Not a good fit for the JD lawn tractor steering wheel. I even added extra layers of foam to tighten up the knob attachment. But it was still loose. I couldn't add more (already had 4 layers) because at my current layers it was extremely difficult to get the screw through the holes to add washer and nut. Even tightening with the socket wrench I couldn't get it snug enough to now slip down.

Great for after surgery
Had elbow surgery and steering my car was a beach! But these on and life became soooo much easier. Went on well, looked good, and functioned as they should. Thought about leaving them on.

Unsafe for driving, poor build quality phtd users at severe risk
Item fell apart 3 days after installation. It did so while I was backing up put of a driveway and turning. Causing my vehicle to lose control and damage some landscaping.
