Had different uses for beans and kale, spinach but seems to be a lot of tomatobase stock, but over all a good soup starter

I shouldn't have bought this book
It is my fault that I did not make the connection that Soup Maker is the name of a product and that this book is designed for that particular product. Go figure. The words Soup Maker just didn't mean a proprietary product to me because I don't own that product. But besides that fact the book is rally just a magazine in it's size and shape. Furthermore there are QR codes throughout the book, a sort of pet peeve I have when I buy a book. I buy a book because I want to read a book, not to be on the internet. I will say this just to end on a positive note: This book does have recipes and I'll have to assume that you can throw the ingredients into a pot in some systematic way and make soups based upon these recipes. A lot of them are obscure though. I was just looking for a book with some breakdowns of simple soups. My search will have to continue elsewhere.

Incomplete and incorrect directions on many recipes. This is a poorly written book.
I bought the Kindle version which may be different than the print edition, but the recipes that call for meat, routinely omit instructions on whether the meat should be pre-cooked or raw. Boneless, skinless chicken thighs for example are to be cut into bite sized pieces and placed into the soup maker. Really? The introduction says some meats will not cook thoroughly in the soup maker, but stops short of indicating all meat should be pre-cooked. Another recipe for Creamy Chicken and Potato Soup, the photo shows nice cubes of potato and chicken, but the instructions simply say to put everything in the soup maker and choose "smooth". For a cookbook that is advertised "for beginners", this is woefully short on directions and could easily lead to someone getting sick. Moreover, the Kindle app on Mac will not show a complete recipe on a single page, they all just run together. Very disappointing and frustrating.
