I started by putting paper on both sides of the chicken before giving it a good whack. to prevent splatter, It turns out, this tenderizer is so enthusiastic, it basically shredded the paper, but in the best possible way! The chicken, however, was perfectly flattened and incredibly tender. Now, if you're into Chinese cooking, you've probably heard about "velveting" chicken. Well, ditch the chemicals, friends! This tenderizer does the trick beautifully, making your chicken super soft and luxurious without any extra fuss. The same goes for steak – it truly takes out the grain, transforming a tough cut into something wonderfully palatable. Beyond its incredible performance, it's just a joy to hold. It's got a lovely balance, it's nice and shiny (and who doesn't love shiny things?), and you can tell it's not going to rust or fall apart after a few enthusiastic pounding sessions. Honestly, it's just a very, very good tool. My only regret is I don't have more meat to tenderize!

This meat pounder or hammer is exactly as described and pictured. I bought it because I wanted to try to make schnitzel. It did a brilliant job of thinning out the pork and chicken with little or no damage to the meat. The one piece stainless steel design means there is no chance of contaminates getting between joints like handle to shaft. All round it a good kitchen tool, easy to clean easy to use. The price is good too.

Heavy and superbly made

I have not purchased a more useful kitchen tool in decades. Makes it so easy to schnitzel chicken and chops to the required thickness. I did a lot of research before buying. It's hygenic stainless steel - very shiny - cast in one piece and doesn't have a plastic handle or any crevices that could become dirty. It's like a piece of art!

Good quality works well

Finding proper stainless steel products these days has become a literal chore as so many sellers will advertise stainless steel only to be sorely disappointed once the item arrives and is proven to not be stainless steel at all. This meat tenderiser is spot on and I can verify this is 100% stainless steel. The design is well balanced and heavy enough to do a first rate job without being too heavy. Money well spent!
