Those Three Little Words
W**R
A beautifully sweet and funny sports romance.
Meghan Quinn writes the most spectacular sports romance, and The Three Little Words is no exception. This hilariously sweet and flirty romance filled with lots of witty banter, laugh out loud moments plus some emotional times that will tug at your heart strings had me captivated from start to finish and make this one of my favourite books to date this year.Eli Hornsby is the self-confessed playboy of Vancouver Agitators hockey team and when his teammate Pacey Lawes’ sister joined the team as social media content creator, Pacey made it clear Penny is off limits especially to Casanova Eli. Fast forward 2 years and Eli and Penny give in to lust and temptation and have one hot, sexy, steamy night then bam, five weeks later Penny finds out she’s pregnant. Chaos ensues from this moment on. We have a protective older brother, the most hilariously awkward text conversations (farts and apples), all the stages of pregnancy which gives us all the hot/spicy times (um hello, five freaking times a day!), pranks, Dr Big Pecs and the most perfect HEA that will melt even the iciest of hearts.Kelsey Navarro and Teddy Hamilton are a narration dream team and bring Penny and Eli to life in the most perfect way. Kelsey was truly outstanding, her ability to show us listeners all aspects of pregnancy was incredible and her comedic timing…simply perfect. Teddy’s performance was phenomenal! He took Eli from a playboy to a man completely out of his depth in a forced proximity situation to frantic baby daddy and finally perfect partner. Easily my favourite performances by Kelsey and Teddy to date.I could not have loved this anymore! I laughed and cried, swooned, and blushed, laughed some more, huffed in frustration then Meghan hit me with the baby’s name and I flaming well cried again!Love love love this marvellous book!

This one is so freaking funny!
This is Penny and Hornsby’s story. Penny is Pacey’s sister, and Hornsby is Pacey’s bestie, so it’s a messy family affair. After delivering the news she’s pregnant to both her brother and her hookup in a meeting in her office, Penny is side swiped by Hornsby frog marched to her doorstep by her brother with suitcases in tow. He moves in to make sure she’s taken care of and to be as involved in the whole pregnancy thing as he can. What ensues is some hilarious text convos, that are super awkward and had me laughing my head off. Really, he likes snow because it’s white!!! I cracked up at that one!Between Penny’s incessant rambling and her need to prank Hornsby non-stop this book had me in stitches from start to finish. There are definitely tender moments and moments where you just want to shake Hornsby, but ultimately he gets there, and their love is passionate and tender. He truly wants to take care of her and their baby, and eventually she lets him.Kelsey perfectly rambled her way through all the awkwardness, with such great comedic timing. Teddy is exasperating but also sensitive. He’s great at giving us all the different sides of Hornsby. I loved listening to this one, these narrators brought their A Game!!If you’re looking for a funny book, look no further, if nothing else it will give you plenty of pranking ideas!

Sports Romantic Comedy Gold, Loved It!
I was so happy to be back with The Vancouver Agitator boys in Meghan's hockey romance world. I loved Kiss and Don't Tell and have been dying to see who was up next. I have to say Eli and Penny's story did not disappoint at all.I actually listened to this one via audiobook and I have to applaud Teddy Hamilton and Kelsey Navarro because they absolutely smashed it out of the park. The narration was done as duet narration and it was seamless. They were the perfect Penny and Eli performing perfectly and portraying all the angst, frustration, comedic moments and a whole other host of emotions needed to do this story justice. Just perfection in my ears basically!Eli and Penny's story is a best friends, little sister, accidental pregnancy story. With Eli trying to step up to the plate to do what is right by Penny after their one night stand; he moves in with her. This of course brings so many opportunities for Meghan's romantic comedy gold. As I was listening away whilst at work (I am a postal worker) I am literally laughing out loud at the scenes playing in my ear, like tears in my eyes laughter. The fact the Eli and Penny are having to get to know one another whilst Penny's pregnancy hormones are going wild is just pure hilarity.Of course there is more to their story outside of the comedic aspects, Eli has a few backstory things that really stop him from allowing himself to truly love and be loved. Watching him overcome this as the story progresses was so endearing. I also loved how he does everything he can to do the right thing by Penny and be the man she needs him to be. Penny is a quirky lovable heroine and the perfect other half to Eli. As the book unfolds you get a few different stages to their relationship & pregnancy and it was clear to the reader how they as a couple and as individuals were evolving throughout. So yes, another amazing sports romance from Meghan Quinn that I would happily recommend to people far and wide. With the little tasters that were dotted throughout about the other boys on the team, especially Holmes, I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Another hit from Meghan
I ❤️ Meghan Quinn’s books. She pretty much can’t go wrong for me. Easy to read, lots of heat and some trademark Quinn quirk. Her writing always makes me laugh. This is a solid four star read. Loved Eli, Penny not so much. She was pretty funny and endearing to begin with but at one point in the book she just crossed a line of ridiculousness that was hard to understand. It didn’t ruin the book for me but that is why I gave it four stars. Looking forward to the next one.
