Use this for grading baseball cards. Get the job done great. Received first one batteries were dead but got quick return and is awesome and shows flaws in the card with bright light. Love it as it is big enough that you don’t have to squint to see it.

The light switch does not turn on the light every time. the diopter adjustment is so hard to turn that the light hood on the other end becomes loose ant this affects the light circuitry and switch so that it fails. eventually after considerable fiddling I got the lead lights to stay on but it involves constant adjusting of the light hood which also holds the batteries and contacts in place, these are very pressure sensitive for the light switch to work properly. Other than that, optically it works ok. Another fiddly issue is having to remove/replace the scale element. Also the light hood or cup should have a soft rim so as not to scratch delicate materials.

What can i say about this. First off i broke the light switch off after the first day of shop use. I use this primarily to measure countersink diameters in sheet metal. The graph for inches is not calibrated and appears when compared to a professional model that the measurements are between .005 and .007 inches off which is huge when working with a .010 tolerance. I swapped the glass out for a calibrated scale and its fine. The batteries last about one 8 hour shift with moderate use abd ive resorted to carrying a flashlight instead.
