Performs Great, Excellent quality
I provide DJ services for Weddings and Private events for about 10 years and growing, so I needed a replacements mic for my old one that went out on me for presentations/speeches. Came across this mic on amazon and been using it for a few months now. I would have to say I am very impressed with it so far, it has a far range and it does excellent job. THe hardware is of great quality. With DJ weddings, you want to be out of the way as far as possible so you don't interfer with the ceremony and this mic allows me to do that. The pastors like it because it does not allow them to hold anytype of mic so they could be intuned with the main reason why they are there.Pros:-Very easy to operate (One switch to turn on and off with no other buttons to confuse clients)-Good Transmittion power (tried it at different ranges and didn't show any signs of dropping signal or any introduced noise)-Works great outside-Works great for professional presentations-Clear audio-Able to pick your HMz-Very Light and unnoticeableCons:-the box that fits in your pocket is alittle big but most of the clients wear suits so it fits in their pocket perfect-looks cheaply made but it delivers excellent soundI would definitely recommend this mic to anyone presenting presentations or weddings.

Lightweight chassis, but very good reception
The lightweight plastic chassis didn't inspire confidence when I first plugged this thing in. I thought I had bought a toy or something. But despite its fragile appearance, the wireless transmission and reception on this thing has been stellar. I use this in my home studio for narration on YouTube videos. Just as a test, I was able to get flawless reception everywhere in my house when the receiver base was in my basement studio. Through walls, out in the garage, upstairs, downstairs...not a single dropout. That's pretty impressive in my book. But the BLX14/CVL loses a star for the quality of the CVL lavalier mic that's included. It may be fine for public address, but for voiceover I thought it was terrible. It picked up a lot of handling noise and I could hear every time the cord was touched by hands or clothing. This handling noise is exaggerated even more if you send the mic through a compressor. And the sound quality is very boxy and nasally. I replaced it with the Shure WL-183 and there was a large leap in audio quality (aside from the WL-183 being omni while the CVL is cardioid). This still doesn't rival the sound quality of the Shure SM-81 that I use for a boom mic, but it's worth the compromise when I need hands-free wireless mobility.

It is such a good mic
When I first tested the microphone the volume was incredibly low. I tried different placements, different kinds of amplification. Still didn't work too well.A couple weeks later I have to give this microphone to an officiant who's performing a wedding. Once there I realized that I had left the transmitter turned on and the batteries were dead. I replaced them, and lo and behold, the microphone worked PERFECTLY!Normally I would give this microphone 5 stars, but the lousy batteries that came with it made my pants brown so I'm dropping a star.So yes, I would highly recommend this to any professional who needs a lav mic for a live performance. Just change the damn batteries first!

Have a good mixer to plug it into
When I 1st tried it there was a-lot of cutting in and out and this was fresh out the packaging. I knew the MIC was NOT the problem. (SHURE Makes GREAT stuff). It was my mixer. I switched mixers and great sound came through from my back porch to 50 feet or so in my back yards. Easy to use and conceals well. RECOMMENDED.

I DON'T LIKE THIS MIC.
Shure is a good brand. It is like a toys but work very good. I don't like the Mic it is bad quality, too much noise and feedback. For this price Shure can make a better Mic!!
