Easier with two people
Like someone else's review, I never write them and was a little apprehensive on so many poor reviews, god knows what they were using it on. My plastic waste pipe running from the kitchen sink behind fitted cabinets consists of four 90 degrees bends. I couldn't shift the blockage with a plunger and what made it harder was a double sink. I googled to see what could help and came across this gadget. Forget the bad reviews I.e. it goes rusty etc but thought this was my last resort for a reasonable price before I would have to pay for a professional. Watch the video on this. I got the wife to do the winding with around a meter each time while I pushed a pulled a little until it became to short and then pulled out another meter to feed in. I did pull it all the way out a couple of times and started again. It did drag out a load of crap. We did this from both ends. It didn't get all the way through but certainly loosend the blockage. I put the u bend back together after around an hour's work and finished of with the plunger. Couldn't believe the muck that came out. Absolutely brilliant bit of kit, although it takes a bit of work. So, just go a head and buy it, a no brainer.

Works Works Works!
Works amazingly well. Had a kitchen sink clogged and evacuating very slowly for weeks and no chemical nor plunger was working. Used this snake until I arrived at a point where it stopped coming own the pipe. Followed instructions (using the lever etc..) and repeat the operations 3 times to eventually go through. Messy and smelly but pipe now clear and water evacuating perfectly. This is the best peice of tool you can get to avoid expensive and useless plumber who will come with a wet vacum way before coming back with a snake. For the price you cannot go wrong. Quality seems fine. Not te sturdiest but does the job greatly.

Strong & good length
This was a great help along with chemicals to release the sink blockage. It’s strong & a good length to reach further into the drains. It’s hard work with manual winding but with perseverance it has worked for us:-)

Short Measure & Self-Disassembly
The outside drain by our back door, into which kitchen & utility sinks, dishwasher, washing machine & upstairs bath drain has, at times recently, overflowed but thankfully only such drained water, no sewage. I needed to investigate what was blocking it & clear the blockage. I suspected dead leaves, which occasionally blow down through the drain gratings. Another factor may have been exceptional amount of rain recently causing high water levels underground. Anyway, I tried a kettle boiling water, a bathfull of used hot water, bicarbonate of soda & vinegar, caustic soda, all to no avail, so I bought this 25ft Forlivese Drain Unblocker from Amazon. On its arrival, I was disappointed to note, when I opened the undamaged box, that there was a small amount of damage to a little buttressing ridge on the bottom of the plastic shell of the unblocker (see photo). However, hopefully that would not cause early failure of the unblocker. So, having read the instructions, I inserted the end of the unblocker wire coil into the drain. I was concerned whether I could get it to turn in the right direction into a horizontal section of the drain at the bottom of the vertical drop down from the outside drain entry, so I angled it across the vertical section in the right direction as best I could. As I fed out the coiled wire of the drain unblocker, turning the handle in a clockwise direction, as per instructions, progress away from me of the end of the wire coil was halted briefly at times, either by drain junctions, sharp turns, or possibly by some degree of blockage. However, eventually I came to the end of available wire coil to feed out, not because no more could be extended from the plastic body of the unblocker, but because the wire coil came loose from the body of the unblocker; it did so freely, with no indication it was about to come loose. I then withdrew the drain unblocker wire coil from the drain but got no obvious indication of why the drain had not been flowing freely. I stretched out the length of wire coil in the direction I believed the drain travelled, to see how far it had probably travelled (towards our garage). It didn’t look like 25ft, so I pulled it onto the lawn & measured (see video & photos); the wire coil was well short of 25ft! I could probably have disassembled the red plastic body of the drain unblocker to connect the wire coil inside but there seemed little point. Unfortunately, the drain is not draining any better for use of the 20.5ft (TWENTY & A HALF FEET) Forlivese Drain Unblocker, but that lack of success is not my reason for returning the goods to Amazon; it is that the item was not as described.

Hit and miss whether this thing will work
This cleared blockage in the u-bend under sink but didn't work after that, as the real blockage was much further down the drainpipe where this wire was not long enough.

Works perfectly!
I had a blockage in my drain system between my kitchen & bathroom (I live in a one floor flat), and I had tried caustic soda numerous times down both kitchen and bathroom plug holes as well as later opening up the P trap under the kitchen sink to inspect if the blockage was there with no luck. I'd seen some videos online of people using the drain snake, and so bought it as a last ditch effort to solve the problem before calling a plumber. I didn't realise it also came with a shorter drain unblocker and gloves too, which is a good first option, although this just showed me that the problem was further down the pipeline. Within 15 minutes of it arriving, I had completely cleared the blockage using the drain snake! It worked perfectly, and using the little tutorial video, I knew the techniques for getting round bends in the pipe and unblocking the clog. I highly recommend trying this product if you have tried other drain clearing options (such as caustic soda/P trap inspection) and they haven't worked. It's much better at clearing blockages further down the pipeline that other liquid products can't reach.

My kitchen sink had been clogged with standing water for several days, despite pouring several bottles of Drano down, as well as baking soda and vinegar, and using the toilet plunger. I tried a 4' snake, and that did nothing, so I got this one. The first time, I shoved it down as far as it would go. When it hit and got stuck, I pulled it in and out in short movements until it got through, then kept going. Eventually it wouldn't go any further. This did not solve the blockage. I decided to give it one more try. This time I followed the directions: I kept it all inside the handle except for the part I fed inside. When it got stuck, I turned the handle, jiggled in and out, and kept shoving. Eventually all of it was inside, and I pulled it back out, rotating at the same time. It worked! The blockage totally cleared up! I left it on the garage floor to dry for a couple of days before putting it back in, but the end of it was still wet. Be aware that the tightly coiled metal traps moisture. I shook it around and left out part of it to dry more - it is not stainless steel and will probably rust some.
