Very helpful while welding
I bought this and was very satisfied with it. But the only down fall to it, is that it scratches easily. I tried taking really good care of it, but it still ended up scratching. Still giving it two thumbs up and I still bought a couple more.

An AMAZING addition to your auto-darkening welding helmet!
We are all getting older, and using the "cheater" reading glasses. I was trying to use "cheaters" while welding as well. Except that they kept fogging up from the heat. I was skeptical about trying this item since it was listed so cheap in price. I was wrong! This lens works flawlessly, clips right in, and instant magnification! No more leaning in so far that you can feel the heat while welding. I wish I knew about this item a long time ago. Now if a welding helmet manufacturer can build a better set of headgear instead of the plastic junk ratchet strap that is in ALL welding helmets, things would be good.

Work great, but enhance up close vision at the expense of medium and distance
I bought this because my up-close vision is slightly bad and, also being colorblind, I had a hard time seeing the puddle when Tig welding aluminum. This does a great job of enabling me to see better when Tig welding. Unfortunately, it does so at the expense of seeing anything else with any clarity. That's a trade-off, I suppose, but it definitely takes away some of the benefits of having an auto-darkening hood (one of which, being I don't have to keep raising and lowering it all the time)

I can see! Harbor Freight Flame Helmet
Works just fine for the Harbor Freight flame helmet (around $50 to $60 model). No mods or jacking anything up needed - fights with factory clamp. Excellent vision without having to change glasses.
