The only reason I'm not giving this device 5 stars is that it is a little slow (which I knew when I bought it) and it doesn't have an excessive amount of storage space. I bought this... tablet? computer?... Tabliputer? Yeah, let's go with that last one. Tabliputer. because I needed a tablet with handwriting recognition/support but I didn't want to shell out the money for a Surface or an iPad Pro. The Asus Tabliputer does an excellent job with handwriting (the active stylus pen thingie comes with the device, btw), and because it runs the same software as the Surface, there are a number of good apps for the pen. Namely there is a pdf reader that allows you to write on documents by hand, and there is a notebook app called Nebo that's awesome. There are also a bunch of good apps for drawing, coloring and sketching. When it's in computer mode, it works just like any windows 10 computer, which is great. Also, it should be noted that the keyboard physically docks to the tablet so there's no lag and it doesn't turn itself off the way Bluetooth keyboards do. The trackpad on the keyboard also works just like a laptop trackpad (though the touch sensors on the screen still work even when the keyboard is plugged in, so you can just point to what you want to click on with your finger if you don't want to use the trackpad).Possibly the best part of this device though, is the ports. Oh the beautiful ports! It has a slot for a microSD card, a headphone jack, and a microUSB port for charging and data transfer, as you'd expect, but it also has one full sized USB 3 port and a micro HDMI port. Hallelujah for not having to buy a bunch of freaking dongles! If you need a tablet to do a lot of really graphics intensive stuff or anything that tends to stress processors, you should probably shell out the bucks for a Surface or an iPad Pro, but if you just want something to watch videos and take notes on at meetings or in class and you don't want to break your bank account, this is a really good buy. High five to ASUS for making a writing/drawing tablet for the masses.

Excellent for study and school work; very good price
Lightweight. Great colors. The resolution is rather low so may not be the best device for watching movies but I use it for studying and note taking, which works excellent. The other downside is that the keyboard makes a metallic noise but I guess you shouldn't expect miracle from a device with this price range. Overall, very happy with the purchase and totally worth the price.

Do you search before you buy, this model has apparent Network Card defect, also mentioned in another comment herew, it is using a cheap network card manufactured by 'qualcomm atheros communications', and one common issue is that this model cannot get a consistent and stable WIFI connection, it will start dropping signals from just 8 feet away from a router, and the latest driver (JUL 2017) still didn't give any improvement at all. While my old version ASUS transformer (T100) can watch Youtube without any issue, this new model keep getting stuck and make itself totally unusable. Using google internet speed test my old ASUS has 7 MB connection speed and this model has only around 0.7 connection speed. It is a DISASTER that ASUS tried to save a few cents on its network card and it destroyed the whole system.

Nice for the price
For a side computer, it works great. The only issue I've had was logging into my Windows account at first startup. It told me it couldn't log into my account, so I had to make a local account, but that didn't work either. After a few tries though, I got it working and cleaned up. The battery life is great, the screen is good, speed is good, video playback isn't the best in quality but it works. The keyboard is pretty small and the right shift button was hard for me to use at first. But detatching the tablet from the keyboard is a smooth and easy process. The tablet itself has some cheap looking battery animations and startup animations, but once Window's 10 comes up it looks fine. The kickstand can be adjusted to almost any angle. The USB port is the only hardware issue I see, it's a little bit off center so it takes a small amount of work to get things in there, but it still works. Overall, if you're just looking to use this to take notes in school or to check your email, as a portable sidekick to your desktop (or if you're like me, big clunky graphics tablet,) it works like a charm for the price.

Two Stars
Very slow on-line. Case gets in the way accessing taskbar icons.

Good if you are patient and love Windows.
It looks gorgeous in person. I was really into the white and orange design. The keyboard is nice. However, it is slow, it freezes, and compared to Android tablets, it is cumbersome.

Laptop Killer?
However unpopular,I have to admit, the motive for buying this machine was -- I really work in the Windows world, but I also wanted something that light and flexible that I can take the park, cafe or rec center etc. and get some work done while the kids go crazy on the monkey bars.Where this tablet really shines is that it can do anything a $500 laptop can do for cheaper and smaller. Toss in a wireless mouse and you can operate like you were on a desktop. The battery life is as described some amazing thing like 11 hours. "Ya right" I thought. My observation is that the 11 hour rating is on the conservative side for what I do. In various states of sleep and moderate use, this tablet will go for a couple of days on a full charge. Kudos to ASUS for getting the battery right. There is a big USB 3 that I use for the wireless mouse transceiver or a USB flash drive. The other USB is a micro and there's a HDMI mini port. Up on the top of the tablet I inserted a 32 gig microSD as the "data" drive. This can expand the flash memory immensely. Connect to your desktop monitor with the HDMI and you've got a true laptop replacement.Overall performance is... well.. it's still a tablet so don't get your hopes too high. However well ASUS got the hardware package as best they could for this price range, it's not going to blow your socks off performance wise. You'll wait a few seconds for Word to load, but generally once the application is loaded most other activities seem to be unimpeded by the hardware. The Intel Atom x5-Z8350 4 core CPU running at 1.44 GHz is a fair performer in the tablet realm, but ASUS jacked up the DDR3-L RAM on this machine to 4 GB which gives the whole system a seriously enjoyable boost. It performs like a 10" laptop that goes all day long.DisplayPro - Smooth graphics with clear and vibrant colorsPro - Accurate and smooth touchCon - Not 1090p.Con - Graphics processing can be a little sluggish. Not for high performance gaming.KeyboardPro - Nice tactile feel.Pro - Positive magnetic connection. It slaps into place on the tablet.Pro - Clear key markings. Not too many keys with multiple symbols. See photo.Con - Smaller than any regular desktop keyboard you have used or may be used to.Con - No number pad.So far this machine fits my needs for work and play. I'll keep you posted.Dan

I started to like the product exponentially
I was a bit afraid to buy the asus transformer mini. I read a couple of "not so good" reviews about it and I was ready to send it back in case it didnt meet my requirements. In the beginning i was very unimpressed, since right of the start it asks to update the windows, which takes forever. After the first day, I started to like the product exponentially. The size is perfect. It is very easy to work on it. The touch screen is very sensible and works greatly. The keyboard is small, but very easy to work with.I didn`t have any troubles whatsoever. I don`t do any heavy work, use mainly office, notes, and internet. It is relatively fast, not as great as a normal pc, but i guess that was expected. The battery lasts very long and the pen works great. The only downside I found out is that depending on how you move the surface, the keyboard easily disconnect, It is great when you are using it in a regular surface, not as good in your lap (if you want to use the keyboard). In that case, you disconnect the keyboard and use it as a tablet (which is a bit annoying to have to disconnect the keyboard for the tablet to work greatly).Anyway, I am overall very satisfied with the product.
