Bends
Easy to assemble.Variable height.BUT....Pole bends easily. Not sturdy.Used 2 from top of deck railing. Bent with minimum pull, more bend in moderate wind.Maybe good for lights, but NOT sun shade.

This is not the pole you're looking for.
Cheap quality, bends easy and over priced

With Powerful Wind Gusts, I Have Not Figured Out How to Safely Mount Them In the Grass.
I ordered this product for use with my shade sail that I want to install over my concrete slab patio off the back of my house. My plan was to mount these poles in the grass; however, we get high gusts of wind where I live in Castle Rock, Colorado and I am trying to figure out the safest way to mount them.I purchased heavy duty 12 inch nails that fit nicely into the 3 holes at each of the base plates; however, I do not believe this will work with 25-50 mile an hour wind gusts. I really do not want to install permanent concrete anchors to mount these poles, but that may be my only choice. The poles themselves easily screw together and seem very sturdy. I have seen a review by a person who received poles with chipped paint; however, the paint on mine looks like it has a great finish, so I will have to see how mine wears overtime.I’ll update this review once I figure out the safe installation and durability.

CAREFUL - Misleading
Purchased these to hang my sun sails. The pictures and dimensions here say the posts are 6 inches... false. The base is 6 inches, but the posts are only 1.25 inches. There is only one spot-the diagram-that mentions the actual post width at 1.25 inches, so I can't be upset for not looking closer. Also, the metal is not as thick as they make it look, it's maybe just over 1/8" thick. Oh, and the provided concrete achoring hardware is not galvanized or stainless, so it will definitely rust. The washers are also EXTREMELY thin. Will not be using the provided hardware. Honestly, I'm very weary to string up my sun sails with these, I feel with all the tension they require, they might bend, especially in a strong wind. I had my sails previously installed using 6x6 treated timbers buried with concrete and the tension was too much for them. I can't imagine a 1.25" metal post will fare better. Haven't installed them yet because I am reluctant to drill into my concrete for a product that may not work as advertised. These may be a perfect-but-overpriced option for patio lights, but for sails... I just don't know yet. If I decide to do it, I'll leave a follow-up review. Maybe they'll excede my current expectations.

These poles are a bit pricy, but considering others, not that bad
At 10 feet, these are perfect. In the furthest rear area of my yard, I set up a splash pool for myself and my grandkids. It is 10 feet by 8 feet by 3.5 feet deep which is enough to keep us cool on those brutally hot days of summer in central Texas. What I did was use these two poles and another set I already had on hand that were 9 feet tall to hold a large shade cloth over the pool. Keeps the water a bit cooler as well as keeping some tree leaves and little twigs out of the pool. I do have a handled screen to strain out stuff, but before I put the shade cloth up, it was every day, a few times each day! The height of these poles gives plenty of "air space" so as to not interfere with beach balls, squirt guns, and other pool toys. I'm thinking that when the pool is put away at the end of summer, these poles may end up at either end of my driveway and the shade cloth strung between them and the side of my house as a sort of "carport" if you will, providing a bit of protection from the sun, bird poop and wind-blown stuff on my car. These poles are easy to put together and are tall - tall enough to clear the top of my little car. Very useful!

Do NOT buy
Finally got around to installing them and they broke within the hour of hanging a shade on them. I spent multiple trips getting the right hardware and drilling into concrete to get these up. Now I have 12 holes drilled into my concrete that are useless since these aren’t sturdy enough to even support a shade sail for an hour. These are extremely poor quality considering they’re one of the most expensive ones Amazon offers. I’m a day outside of the return policy so I hope they at least honor the rerun and take these poles back.
