I’m slightly underwhelmed by this passionfruit gin. I love the Sicilian Lemon version from this brand, but for me the passionfruit version seems more passionfruit scented than flavoured. The gin has a pretty golden colour and as soon as you open the bottle there is a strong, distinctive waft of passionfruit. This is great and boded really well. In the mouth, this is quite a sweet-tasting gin and for me the predominant fruit flavour is orange oil rather than passionfruit. I’ve tried this both neat and with Fevertree’s light tonic. Either way, passionfruit is heavy on the nose but more of a background flavour that comes in at the end of a mouthful – above the usual juniper-laden botanicals mix, this is rather dominated by orange. I can certainly see why Gordon’s recommend adding fresh passionfruit to a G&T made with this: it needs the zing and tartness fresh passionfruit will bring (adds passionfruit to next week’s supermarket shop) to elevate this.

Gin is not my first choice but the other half can drink it for fun and as it was bought for her it didnt last long and there was no complaints apart from she had a soar head the next day so....good stuff.

Ich Schreibe diese Rezension, da so oft die Annahme getroffen wird, dass günstiger Gin nicht gut sein kann. Wer sich mit der Gin Geschichte auseinander gesetzt hat weiß, dass Gordons ein traditionsreiches Label ist. Und zu einen der ersten Gin Hersteller der Welt gehört. Was erwartet euch bei dieser Gin Kreation, auf jeden ein exotisches Sommerfeeling. Hier werden wir nicht wie klassisches von einer Wacholder Welle erschlagen. Dieser Gin setzt auf viele Fruchtaromen, ist sehr mild und kommt auch bei den Ladies sehr gut an. Was ihr für den perfekten Sommergenuß braucht ist ein Idian Tonic Water (Schweppes oder Thomas Henry), sehr sehr viel Eis. Den dieser Gin lebt von der schönen Kälte, der die hohen Temperaturen im Sommer runterkühlt. Servieren kann man diesen Gin auch super mit einer getrockneten Ananasscheiben. Daher meine klare Kaufempfehlung wer einen preiswerten, soliden fruchtigen Gin sucht kann hier beruhigt zugreifen.
