Great set. My go to gift for any aspiring artists.
This is the second one I have bought. One for teenager who saw it and wanted it. Then one as a gift for an 11 year old. Both recipients delighted with the quality and choice of colours & equipment. I bought extra water holding brush pens from my local pound shop. The set comes well packaged in a lovely hold bag. Great when travelling.

sorry
I don't really recommend these to anybody - they are gloopy, almost glue-like. A lot of filler here. Don't blend well. The only good thing is a lot of colours so maybe if you are buying for very young children they would work fine. Usually I'm a fan of Ohuhu products but this one was a major disappointment for me.

A comprehensive watercolour paint set for kids
With its huge (48) or ready-made colours and cute little draw-string bag this set is clearly aimed at kids and the paint is very much student-quality with, as expected, no information on pigments or lightfast rating etc. which aren't relevant at that level. That notwithstanding there are some very nice colours and pretty decent results can be had. With the bag, tin, paints, water-brush, cleaning sponge, small-sized paint brush, pencil and watercolour postcards I guess it has everything a young budding watercolorist might need if they are not sure if the medium is for them. Given the intended market I got my son, who is more used to Derwent Inktense paint pans, to try these out with me (see watch no.2 and Warhammer sketch/painting). The paints are clearly intended so that no mixing is required as 48 is an excessive number of colours for anyone wanting to get properly into watercolour. They are though ideal for kids who are absolute beginners and though I would question the composition of the palette of colours included, there were some nice tones in there. There are too many similar colours included though, especially among the yellows and greens. The paints themselves varied quite a bit with some being more pigmented than others. They did need quite a lot of activation (being a bit chalky) and many were fairly opaque unless watered down, while others struggled a bit to produce strong colours. All were usable though and it was quite good fun in lazy way having so many colours with no mixing required. They don't compare in quality (pigment strength, transparency and ease of activation) to good quality student paints such as Windsor and Newton Cotman watercolours or Derwent Inktense dye-based ink paint pans, which have less colours in their sets, but achieve more through mixing them and the overall quality of their results. This set though is for kids who might be too young to want to get into the whole colour mixing thing. My son used the water brush and found it okay and to be honest it is a generic water brush - no more, no less than that. The included paint brush is also usable and a worthwhile addition IMHO. I'm less certain that the pencil is needed and we didn't use it. A waterproof ink pen (which Ohuhu also do) would have been better so that budding artists can try their hand at line and wash. Likewise, I am not a fan of including white paint in watercolour sets and here you get both a pan and a tube. Although it doesn't say so I did wonder if the tube (unused) was actually gouache instead of watercolour. The watercolour postcards are a bit larger than usual and are loose within the cover rather than being fixed and tear out-able. I used one with some fountain pen ink and water (attempting chromatography) and the paper is quite thin and warped a bit too easily for serious use. It's nice that they are included, but heavier weight paper and more of them would have been better for watercolour and other wet media use. Overall this set is quite well suited to introducing younger kids (under supervision as there is no info. on the paint composition) to watercolours. Older children or adult beginners, however, would be better off with a smaller number of paints in a travel set with better quality paints.

A bit chalky for my taste but the colors are vibrant. Good product for beginners.

I've made lots of beautiful art and plan to continue to until the set is finished! The colour does dry out slightly lighter than when it goes on but that's just typical with water colour. Colour hasn't faded for me from what I've noticed. I would recommend this set to someone or buy it again. It's nice that they give you a swatch set, brush, and paper to start you off. There's also an extra tube of white paint and a pencil in the set. No overly weird scents and the paint is pretty pigmented.

I bought this set for my portable journaling and practice. I paint regularly in other media, but I’m not a water colourist, so I can’t compare it to other brands. The paint has a nice consistency and there are so many colours that look great when painted on paper. Really nice set, and it was even delivered the next day.

Ohuhu as a brand is always reliable with inexpensive but effective products for your artistic needs. The product comes with 48 vibrant colors, a tube of white paint, a pencil, a paintbrush, a water brush pen, a sponge, 8 sheets of water color paper, and color swatch paper to test out the various colors in the paint set. Not only that but you will also have a soft, small carrying bag that fits the paint set. Overall, for such a low price, this product is definitely worth it and I would happily buy it again!
