Is this comparable to sculpy translucent, I am disappointed with its level of translucent nature?

Cernit is far more translucent than Sculpey of any kind. It is as good or even better than Pardo for clearness. It also doesn't yellow like Sculpey or Premo Translucent either. When I found Cernit Translucent I ditched Premo and Sculpey. I love buying American made products, but both Pardo and Cernit clays beat the living daylights out of what the U.S. makes. That's just the way it is.

Can this be tinted somehow? Like to make translucent green?

Yep just add a tiny bit of green clay. I believe cernit also sells a translucent green!

I received just "translucent" like what is pictured.

What does the white mean after the translucent?

It means the clay is white and somewhat allows the light through versus opaque clay like a plate that you can't see through.
