Damson Street Supply Co. Pomade for Men – Medium to Strong Hold, Water Based Original Moderate Shine, Mens American Made Styling Hair Products (4 oz)

Bought this about a week ago, and it’s exactly what I was looking for. Medium hold, medium shine, easy to work into my hair and style. It smells really good as well. I like that I get 4oz of product most times it’s a much smaller amount. Container also looks cool sitting out on the bathroom shelf. Cool design. Will buy again.

Pomade holds well and washes out easily, but IMO the fragrance is cloyingly sweet and feminine, like cheap hairspray. No-go.

Right off the bat seeing the handwritten not and dog sticker I wanted to love this product. Its clear which made me feel like its more of a gel than the pomade's I am used to but the application and hold ended up being much looser and not at all like a gel. Opening the container and taking a big smell I thought it smelled amazing but something happens when you apply it and the smell changes to something not good, in the container awesome, in the hair not for some reason; the smell fades after a bit but for a few minutes after applying every time I caught a whiff it was not good.

I love the texture of this Pomade. It is quite thick but spreads easily on your hands and distributes evenly in your hair with out a problem. The smell is clean and fresh like an aftershave. I did not find it to be an overly powerful smell, after a minute, I could not smell it in my hair. I checked the 14 ingredients on the EWG.org website and only the very last ingredient (Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate) is rated a 5 out of 10 the rest are 0 to 3 so I am very happy with that considering how well the product works. I also love that it is a 4oz container so it last much longer between orders. Finally, it is a tad expensive but it is made in the USA so I am ok paying a little premium to ensure a safe product considering I use it everyday on my scalp. Easy 5 stars.

I really like that this is water-based as opposed to oil-based, it not only makes for much easier cleanup of your hands and your hair but it feels better and helps to maintain that medium, less shiny appearance. If you take a deep sniff right from the jar it might smell a little soapy, like a sterile / clinical aroma but that dissipates quickly and the minimal fragrance that remains is a good manly scent. The medium holding strength works well for my thin hair and it also appears to help darken the greys a little. The 4oz jar is a generous amount and is priced well. I also like the design and appearance of the labeling, it's manly enough to leave out in the bathroom, plus it's made in the USA which is always a good thing.

Great stuff. Works great in my son's hair. Lasts long enough. Smells good.
