Great Switch
I've been using TrendNet switches for a couple of years now. The new 10G switch is replacing a 2.5G switch in my office, I'm trying to future proof my setup. Immediately I could tell that throughput was faster and I measured ~30-40% throughput difference between the old and new switch. It does run a little hotter than the old switch but not that I can't touch it and not bad for being fanless. I also ran benchmarks on my machine and overall throughput and CPU is less. Super easy to set up, just plug it in and Cat cables I'm using Cat 8) and you're rolling. I plan on buy another to replace a 2.5G in my main entertainment setup. Update: I replaced my 2.5G switch in my main entertainment setup and plugged in the Roku, AppleTV and MoCA, works great. Something weird, I could not get the Roku box working with the 2.5G switch, no matter how hard I tried. Worked first shot with this switch. Very happy with the performance and quality of the hardware.

Good 5 Port 10Gig Switch
Since implementing this 10Gig switch into my 10Gig LAN it has worked great. Started 508MB pings at implementation and no loss. TRENDnet website states to only use cat6a, but specs for cat6 state it should work for under 150 feet. I went with cat6a since there is not a big difference in price and TRENDnet recommendation is to use cat6a. Gets a bit warm but expected for a five port 10Gig switch but it’s not bad. It is an American company and the switch is well built and has a good quality feel to it. Currently using three (all 10Gig connections) of the five ports. Works good so far.

Overheats and causes disconnects
EDIT: The device is now overheating all the time even with nothing on or around it. This causes disconnects and dropped connections on all devices connected to it. Bad design, do not buy. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This is one of only a few 10Gb desktop switches on the market right now. It works well and provides full 10Gb throughput when pushed at that limit. The only downside is that it can overheat if you put anything on top of it and then it shuts down briefly and you lose connectivity. The device is recommended as long you keep the top clear.

I'm loving these little switches!
I really appreciate the fact that the power port is on the same side as the NIC ports. I use these in my home lab and not in a computer cabinet/rack so simple easy access is great for my needs. I also like the fact that these use the external AC/DC power adapter to keep the heat out of the metal chassis. These units are fan-less and the operate absolutely noiseless. The 10gb unit get a bit warm, but it not uncomfortable. I have also purchased the TrendNet 10/2.5gb 6 port switch and its characteristics are identical. I'm upgrading my home lab to 2.5gb and 10gb wherever possible and these TrendNet switches have become my go-to networking product of choice. I've purchased a few TrendNet products over the years and they have always been reliable. I hope these units continue to deliver for many years to come.

TRENDnet 5-Port 10G Switch TEG-S750, decent enough
I bought this to replace an 8-port 10gpbs TRENDnet switch that had fans that were just too loud for bedroom use. This one is fanless, and thus dead silent. I'll just have to live with fewer ports. Caveat: you don't really know how reliable a switch is until you've had it for a few years and the ports start going bad one at a time. In general, I have good luck with TRENDnet switches (at least compared to cheaper consumer-grade switches), but I have not owned this long enough to have any clue how reliable it is. Also, I simply don't have the ability to do any kind of benchmarking on how it handles speed or having lots of traffic on multiple ports. All I can tell you for certain is that I have had zero connectivity issues with this device in the few weeks I've owned it. It is connected directly to my router, so every ounce of Internet traffic between my home devices and the outside world is going through this thing, although nothing in my house is really going to push this switch to its limits.

TRENDnet is fantastic and affordable
Well, I have this running none stop 24/7 for the past week without any issues. Doesn't get too hot and considering now to buy 2 more. I have CAT 5E 350mhz (Honeywell) cables in the house that works at 10gb all day without any issues. I'm not sure how people saying they are failing. There are not many cheap 10gb switches available and these are TAA & NDAA compliant. Not even Netgear meets both requirements and are nearly 3 times the price. Call me lucky, but I think lifetime warranty is a hard bargain to pass up on when they have been rock solid for over 2 weeks. I figured, if it was going to fail, it would do that within 72 hours.

Worked fine for about 6 months, then it failed miserably.
Had this switch for 6 months during which it worked perfectly fine. Fast forward last week and I started having a completely crippling experience with the home network where I could not even work at all. I had to disconnect every single device from the network with the exception of the 2 work computers so we could at least do some work, and even then connection was so-so. I have a 2.5G connection so this was pathetic. I blamed the router and ISP because this is an unmanaged switch, should have been a no brainer. However, during troubleshooting with the ISP, I noticed that if I was connected directly to the modem, speeds were fine. Directly connected to the router, when the next hop was directly the modem, it was fine. The issue only occurred when the path was through this switch. I tested then connecting through a replacement TP-Link switch I have (which I don't recommend either since its ports tend to die as soon as there is any sort of power failure in the home) and while on the TP-Link I had downstream speeds of 2.3Gbps. On the TRENDnet I had 40 Mbps. Interestingly, upstream speeds were perfectly fine at 2.3Gbps. Seems that somehow the downstream direction got messed up on this switch for at least one of the ports. This also came out of nowhere, since there weren't any particular events (power outages, lightning, etc). it just stopped working all of a sudden. Furthermore, when I had the issue with TPLink, that company replaced the switch and also absorbed the cost of shipping back the failed unit and the new unit as well. In the case of TRENDnet, they want you to cover shipping to them, of course tracked and insured. If their switch is going to last 6 months, and they are not going to absorb the cost of shipping their failed hw back to the garbage pile, I have to say that it is a worthless brand for expensive equipment. I will leave TRENDnet just for 50-dollar gear or less. Something I'm not going to miss too much. If shipping of failed units was absorbed by them, I would maybe reconsider them, but if I have to spend at least 30 USD every 6 months, I would rather spend that in a switch that will last through that instead of having to replace it over and over

Does the job!
Great product and gets the job done. It does get a bit warm, though, and I ended up placing a heat sink (with a large thermal pad) on top of it, and the placed a spare computer case fan next to it to dissipate the heat.

10G that is quiet
It works well with my 10G network and it is QUIET. Most 10G switches sound like a figher jet on steroids but this doesn't. Gets a little warm, but not extreme. I can sit beside it and not hear it. Wonderful.

good value, works well, recommended
quick ship, well packed, item is good solid build quality, and this is an affordable way to get some 10 gig networking setup for a modest requirement (small LAN / modest server network). Set up yesterday and it was all just plug-and-play. things seem to all work as expected. note there is no rack ear in the kit, this is intended as a 'desk top switch' but that is part of the deal. all good. recommended.
