My 'back' story. I spent the better part of 30 years in the MMA. I have multiple black belts, elevated ranks of each of those black belts, spent years fighting, weapons training, and finished my martial arts career teaching the fighting arts. In 2001, I was diagnosed with a highly aggressive degenerative disorder of the spine. My martial arts days came to a screeching halt, once we realized the extent of the damage I had done to myself in tandem with the disease. From 2001 to now (2017) all of my vertebrae have degenerated to the point, I only have four 'normal' or unchanged bones. All but a few of my disks are gone. I have nerve root compression and bone-on-bone grinding, 24/7. My spine is basically mush. I have a 55" chest, so there is a lot of weight to carry around from shoulder to shoulder. I was placed on every legally available pain medication offered in the United States. Massive doses of opiates, Morphine, muscle relaxers, etc. For me, this was not the path I wished to travel. I took myself off of all the medications and am now living completely pharmaceutical free! I am an opioid epidemic survivor, but there was heavy damage done... One lives and learns. Now... how I rest. I have gone weeks without sleep before. The pain from other pillows, tried and failed, have left me desperate for help. I purchased a Sleep Number bed because the issue of adjustability is key to someone in my condition. For me, having the ability to change my mattress only made sense. Also, my wife doesn't have back issues. She needed to have her side of the bed work for her, as I needed my side to work for me. Adjustability is the cornerstone to my daily routine. And, I am so skeptical of companies these days. These days manufacturers will tell you whatever it takes to make the sale. It is after the sale support which speaks volumes for me, now. I picked this pillow because it is adjustable. I can add or subtract any amount of filler material I want. I had looked into a water core pillow, but having a Sleep Number bed mixing with a leaky water pillow can cause major issues. I opted for this pillow because of the fill. Most, importantly I chose this pillow based on the remarks of those who had dealt with the manufacturer, post sale. I got my pillow, quickly. I was in misery and needed a good night's sleep. It came just in time. The touch and feel of this pillow is incredibly luxuriant and presents the air of superior quality. This product is well made, with each and every stitch. The zippers are solid and something I have yet to detect during my times of rest. However, the pillow was not right for me. I needed more support of my head and neck. I was heartbroken that it wasn't perfect out of the bag. That said, I gave it a good couple of weeks for my body to adjust to the new pillow. The relief I had sought, was not happening for me. I decided to contact the company. I contacted them, both via email as well as calling their customer service number. Let me tell you... their professionalism, attention to detail, concern for my happiness in association with their product blew me away! I was shocked to hear a customer service representative care so much about my happiness. They had me perform a test on the pillow, to determine how much fill they needed to send me--free of charge. Once we determined approximately how much fill to add, the package with the additional material was at my door in just a couple of days. I added the material according to their (common sense) instructions. That night... I slept like the dead. I have to toss and turn all night, because of the nerve damage in my back and neck. Laying in one position is unheard of for me. THIS IS IT!!! I have spent a lot of money over the years looking for the one pillow that will bring me rest. I have been so disappointed, time, after time, after time. My money would have been better spent if I had just gone to the toilet and flushed it. Not this pillow! THIS IS IT!!! My description of this wonderful American-made product. The pillow case and inner pillow are so soft. There was NO FOUL SMELL at all. That said, my nose has been broken around a dozen times in 30 years. So... my sense of smell ain't what it used to be. The filler sinks and engulfs the shape of your head when sleeping. Just like down, however, the support is perfect! My head and neck are cradled and comfortable. I can lay in one position for hours before needing to reposition. Laying on my back, side, stomach--no problem. Now, the support is firm without being hard. This fascinates me. I have had support in the past, but that fill was so firm it hurt. Not this pillow! And, if it is too much, I can simply take some out. It is 100% adjustable! I can change this pillow to suit my needs whenever I want. GENIUS!!! All of the softness and comfort of down, all the support I need to get solid rest, and an American company that truly wants me to be happy with their product? THIS IS IT!!! I have finally found my pillow. -Top quality for the money -Killer warranty -Customer service that cares -Speedy service after the sale I have no doubt whatsoever. THIS IS IT!!! I have found my pillow! Every once and a while I am very pleased with a purchase. I feel like I made a great choice on a product, which in turn helps me feel like I know how to actually shop for something I need. There are a few items in my Amazon shopping history which really make me happy I pulled the trigger and placed the order. I am now convinced, this pillow is one of my best shopping choices--ever made. I am happy. I am resting. I have less pain during my days. And I strongly feel each and every Penny of my hard earned money was well spent on this purchase. You will buy the pillow, you decide to buy. Something will click for you and you will pull the trigger on a purchase. Reviews are so subjective. This purchase has brought me happiness. I have less pain and I am rested. For me... this is the perfect pillow. If you are looking for a fix to help you sleep better at night, I truly wish you the best. I know how frustrating it can be to just get any sleep. I haven't slept this well in almost 18 years. For me? For my money? THIS IS IT!!! This... is the one and only pillow I will use from this point forward. And, if I wear this pillow out? I will run, not walk, to order another from this company. They have earned my complete and total loyalty going forward. I even plan to buy my next mattress topper from them. If their pillows are this awesome, I can't wait to buy other products from them. I truly hope my review helps them sell more pillows because they are doing it right. So after researching numerous competing products (such as the apparently overrated "MyPillow"), I ended up purchasing this particular pillow based on the generally high Amazon reviews, and the clearly superior customer service described in many of them. I have tried a few pillows in my time, and the Snuggle-Pedic is now at the top of my list. It is a wonderful pillow deserving of the accolades seen here in its many Amazon reviews. I have been using it for about six weeks now and felt that it was probably a good time to write a review, so here goes. The shredded memory foam inside has been great to sleep on for the last six weeks, and far superior to the stuffing in normal cheap pillows we've been sleeping on for decades. Never again will I buy another pillow at Target, Walmart or Ross to be sure. The Snuggle-Pedic pillow keeps my cranial cavity elevated at a comfortable level without the weight of my head excavating a pit through the middle of the pillow down to the mattress bedrock. Nor do I find myself waking up with fused vertebrae in my neck from sleeping at unholy angles. The pillow is fairly heavy as well, for a pillow. Memory foam is not light like normal pillow stuffing. As a result I would not recommend pillow fights with these pillows, especially with children. One well-intentioned blow from one of these things will send your opponent crashing to the floor and down for the count. Having said all that, the only problem I can think of with the pillow itself is that the memory foam within does tend to moderately clump over time in one side or another. To keep it plump all around I have been picking it up by one end before bed and shaking the stuffing back together for a few seconds, which works fine. I have also tossed it in the dryer a couple times since it arrived which plumps it up even better as needed. This clumping is moderate, and really a minor issue for me. It certainly does not take away from my overall satisfaction in this product. I should also add that the bamboo covering on the outside of the pillow is very soft and comfortable, and does not seem to get too warm, as advertised I suppose. When I saw the pillow was named after and made of bamboo for some reason, I thought it was a bit ridiculous as I envisioned the outer covering of the pillow covered in long slices of sharp bamboo rods sewn together with jungle twine, stabbing my head and ears as I rolled around on it in my sleep. How this material is made of bamboo I do not know, which literally shows what I know (or don't know rather). Perhaps bamboo trees are actually filled with super-soft heat-resistant tropical stuffing that must merely be pulled out the ends. Or more likely, this company has mastered some arcane, alchemical process that turns bamboo into something that no longer resembles bamboo in any way. And to think I thought all bamboo was good for was scaffolding in the far east, tasteless filler in Chinese food, and a handy tool to cane the backs of malcontents in Singapore. I would certainly be interested to read a few details from Relief-Mart about what the heck their "viscose" of bamboo is, how it is made, and how it is used to make the pillow covering. This brings me to yet another question. Who walks around thinking about how they can turn bamboo trees into soft and cozy pillow covers? The Dr. Frankenstein who came up with this is clearly a special person. One wonders what could be on deck in the Relief-Mart laboratory, and whether the world is truly ready for kelp bedsheets. Speaking of the bamboo pillow cover, I would be remiss if I did not point out that this company also makes additional removable zipper-lined pillow covers ( Zipper Removable Pillow Cover by Snuggle-Pedic - Kool-Flow Luxurious Bamboo Material - All USA Made (Queen Size) ). These are made of the same bamboo material that the pillow itself is covered in, but unlike the pillow itself, these pillow covers have a zipper along one end. It's basically a bamboo pillow case to put around your Snuggle-Pedic bamboo pillow for an extra bamboo layer of protection I guess. It also provides me with an additional opportunity to use the word "bamboo" multiple times in each sentence. Relief-Mart actually sent me one of these in addition to the pillow, and I LIKE it. Oh and you know THAT I do. The entire pillow fits easily inside the pillow cover which can then be zipped up. Then the entire pillow can still be placed inside a normal pillow case after that. At least that's what I have done with mine. I like having the option to someday remove the pillow from the pillow cover and wash the cover by itself as needed should it magically find itself stained with foreign material or bodily fluids. Gross I know, but I'm just saying. This hasn't been necessary so far because I take long showers and am extraordinarily clean, but I do hope that when that day arrives, the pillow cover will have proven to protect the Snuggle-Pedic glory inside so that the pillow remains as pristine bamboo-white as it was on the day it popped out of the oven. So for those who hate looking at their stained, nasty little pillows with their pillow cases removed, I highly recommend you get one of these pillow covers as well to protect your pillow investment. And I say "investment" because by the time you buy the pillow and the cover, that's pretty much what it is. Which leads me to a short aside from the pillow itself. Yeah, the pillow is fairly pricey as you probably have already noticed, which is a bit of a bummer. I bought mine for $59.99, plus the cover is another $17.99 as I write this. That's nearly $80 for a really good pillow. I imagine that price is off-putting to many consumers, which is a shame. No doubt if they were cheaper, they would be much more widespread, and Relief-Mart would be dominating the market. As it is, I can only speak for myself when I say that it is probably a worthwhile investment for me considering I may potentially spend a third of the rest of my life laying my head upon this glorious pillow, and the bamboo that adorns it. I have my doubts that I will need to buy another pillow for a very long time now. Considering my wife and I would buy new cheap pillows every year or so after the others would go to crap, I will no longer be spending that money. So I guess I will have an eventual return on this investment a few years down the road, and I will have slept better for it. Ideally, the price on these will come down so more people can pick one up. But either way, I personally feel it is worth it. Lastly, the manufacturer offers free customization of the Snuggle-Pedic pillow if desired. I personally am more than content with the amount of material in mine and have no desire to send it off to their Orange County bamboo farm. But the fact that they do this at no cost to the owner is another feather in their cap if you will. For those who want more or less stuffing, you can have this done for free, which is pretty cool. So five stars from me. Snuggle-Pedic Bamboo pillow...Highly Recommended, and I'm out. Bup.

Nice size but too thick

I’m a big dude, side sleeper, jacked up body from hard work and play, numerous surgeries including back, pain is a constant. I’ve spent easily several thousands of dollars on fad, expensive and prescribed pillows. I’ve had mine going on two years now. This is the best pillow I have ever used, period, mike drop. I bought this one for my kid, no more complaints about pillows. I see complaints about smell, lumpy and going flat. Wash it in hot water and throw it in your dryer. EASY! Read and follow the directions. I smell nothing and it refreshes back to new easily. I wash mine in hot water and mild soap every couple of months. You can’t do that with a $400 goose down which goes to straight to hell after a year and does not support very well. I fluff mine before bed at night, I easily snuggle my head into a comfy position. If I’m sleeping hot I can flip it over and I’ve got a cool pillow, right back to sleep. If you are large, wide, sleep on your side or got a big mellon get some extra stuffing, I had to and its now the perfect pillow. This pillow has set the bar.

Its not adjustment

Realistisch betrachtet ist die Füllung aus viskoelastischen Schaum-Flocken nichts anderes als Resteverwertung - dafür ist der Preis des Kissens recht hoch. Beim ersten Waschen vor Benutzung zeigte sich, dass das Waschen im Ganzen wenig Sinn macht, da die Füllung im Kernd des Kissens auch nach sorgfältigem Trocknen im Trockner immer noch feucht war und nach ausgebreitetem Trocknen auf einem großen Tuch dann klumpig war. Also habe ich die Füllung halbiert und locker in einem 80x80cm-Kopfkissenbezug in 2 Portionen gewaschen und getrocknet. Dann war die Füllung endlich trocken und fluffig. Das Liegegefühl ist so weit gut, wenn auch die Füllung sich über Nacht etwas verschiebt. Doch nach etwa drei Wochen bildete sie eine kompaktere Masse und war ungleich ("hügelig") im Bezug verteilt. dann genügte es nicht mehr, mit der Hand im Bezug alles etwas aufzulockern, da dadurch alles richtig klumpig wurde. Es war ein Versuch, aber mein bisheriges Kissen aus 2 Kammern mit Daunenfüllung und viskoelastischem Kern bleibt mein Favorit.
