Silent Night

This film an incredible cast. I watched with my teenage daughters and we couldn’t stop thinking about it or talking about it for days after. This film will stop you in your tracks. Everyone you watch this film.

Very well thought out and acted. Different!

Mixed messages & themes. Whilst pace & plot are disjointed until the very end, it's the actor playing Art who shines & is the reason I watched the rest of the film. If this is an attempt to hold a mirror of accountability to very privileged people, it doesn't do a blinding job. There is a minor nod to polarisation of society but overall I don't think this film knows what it wants to be & ends up being indistinct. meh

Absolutely shocked at the level of scare mongering in this so called CHRISTMAS movie, Im fully awake and to sit and watch what I thought was going to be a comedy, but sadly seeing 'comms' after comms' about how the government want to do a great reset - climate, gas, self death pills etc etc just had me thinking that we already know they like to broadcast what they'd like to do to us, its ridiculous!I actually don't even know where to begin if I was rating this rubbish as a movie, but I will try...1- ALL the actors. (ok the kids were alright) were really bad2 - The script was awful3 - They must have got an award (the only award) for the amount of times they say the F word in EVERY scene (even the children) what is wrong with people!!!4 - Its NOT even the slightest bit funny5 - And the fact this is portrayed as a Christmas movie but the ending is awfulMy overall score for this movie as my personal opinion is -0 and it should come with a WARNING LABEL, what if someone was feeling depressed or suicidal at Christmas and they watch this?I personally think we need to go back to good honest and family movies that leave you feeling of hope and warmth at this time off year, life can be hard enough as it is for people.This so called is a complete waste of money.AWFUL

The only dislike i have i don’t know if there be a second one which i really like to happen has this was very scary funny emotional moment that we can all relate to.Totally worth a watch

I got this Region 2 import to the UK. Picture quality on this blu ray disc is exellent, however the alternate endings on the Region 1 disc are absent. Also there are no English subtitles, and the information on the insert is in German. Richard.

Watched this because of the trailer, wasn't disappointed. The choice of actors was superb, a mixture of comedians and serious actors made it very entertaining. Totally on point regarding the subject matter, how we effed up the environment and are paying for it and how we blindly following government advice, except little Art. In regards to the swearing, nothing wrong with that. People that get offended by kids swearing have obviously not listened what's going on around them lately. How would you be if it was your last day on earth? If your sick of the usual Christmas films, it's a perfect antidote. Don't bother if you can't cope with 'bad language' stick to White Christmas.

Trauma instead of comedy.

I would call this an art film. It has thought and feelings going on. What ifs. It's not a feel-good movie. Has bonus endings and deleted scenes. I think the gay women has the worst personality in so many ways. Not because she's gay but who she is. She doesn't care about her partner. Shipping sucked. Left package around the side of the garage instead of walking it to the front step under the front door.

Thing is, I bought this because of the polarizing reviews. So much hate, and then the defenders. And I can see why this would be a polarizing movie: it isn't the kind of film you can put simply into a genre box, or if you try it wouldn't be Christmas or Horror or Comedy but rather Science Fiction. And not modern feel-good Sci-Fi with good guys to root for but rather that bleak 70s style of Soylent Green and Invasion of the Body Snatchers. It's just the SF elements are backgrounded to a character drama that takes place at Christmas; and there is significant humor in portraying the useless fussiness of the posh characters when faced with the situation, sly humor that likely would be missed by people with a poorly developed sense of irony. It operates as a Science Fiction piece though, with the moral center of the dilemma being Art, played effectively by Roman Griffin Davis, as he stares down the threat while everyone else tries to distract themselves with the frivolity of Christmas.It is an experiment in story-telling that will likely become a modern classic of Science Fiction once it finds it's real audience and the ideas on display get the academic treatment.

Zum Inhalt: Die Welt steht vor dem Abgrund. Der Grund ist nicht ganz klar — es scheint an der Luft zu liegen – und die Regierungen empfehlen sich über eine Exit-Pille vorher selber umzubringen, um sich Qualen zu ersparen. Zumindest sollen zu Weihnachten nochmal die Familie und Freunde zusammenkommen, um ein letztes Mal zusammen zu feiern. Und dann wären wir auch schon direkt in der Story: Es herrscht, wie immer vor dem eigentlichen Fest, eine heitere und aufgedrehte Stimmung und alle putzen sich schön raus. Auch das Ambiente stimmt mit einem stilvoll eingerichteten englischen Landhaus.Die Handlung ist dann zunächst durch ein aufgedrehtes durcheinander Gerede geprägt, in der auch alte Liebesbeziehungen der Protagonisten thematisiert werden und es zu leichten Verstörungen kommt. Beispielsweise wird Buchstabenlegen gespielt und es erscheinen die Wörter „Paedo“ (-> Paedophile) und „Liar“ (-> Lügner).Lily-Rose Depp tritt angenehm frisch auf; mittlerweile enorme Ähnlichkeit zu ihrer Mutter — vor allem das markante Gesicht — hält sich aber in den Gesprächen zurück. Die Leistungen der Schauspieler sind dabei insgesamt als ausgezeichnet zu bezeichnen.Die nahende Bedrohung, die bereists offensichtlich andere Länder und Landstriche betroffen hat, scheint nun auch auf das Landhaus zuzuziehen. Erste Auswirkungen werden erkenntlich (daher auch FSK16). Es werden die Exit-Pillen der Regierung vorbereitet, die einen angenehmen Tod gewährleisten sollen, es wollen aber nicht alle mitmachen. Der Grund für den Untergang wird hier — tatsächlich — entweder den Russen oder der Erde selber zugeschrieben, die aufgrund der Vergiftung/Umweltverschmutzung durch den Menschen „zurückschlägt“. Ausgerechnet die Kinder äußern dann weiterhin im Film: „Die meisten Leute wissen doch gar nicht, dass sie einen Fehler gemacht haben – und am Ende sind wir dann vielleicht alle Tot…“, und: „Die Erwachsenen sagen immer, dass Leben sei nicht fair — aber das sagen sie doch nur weil sie keine Lösung haben!“Insgesamt ist der Film Top gemacht und als eine Art Mystery-Horror-Drama mit schwarzhumorigen Einlagen zu bezeichnen. Absolute Empfehlung! Den Trailer sollte man vorher nicht schauen, da hier schon zu viele Details zum „Ereignis“ selber bereits angedeutet bzw. gezeigt werden.

A unique christmas horror movie. Twisted and Demented and I recommend it!

I watched it over and over and keep picking up new information each time. Mostly because of the accent. The boy in this movie Roman G Davis should get an academy award and to say that Keira knightley and Matthew Goode were superb is and understatement.
