Venture Gear Clandestine Electronic Hearing Protection Eearmuffs

Received the Venture Gear electronic ear muffs and I didn't immediately open it because I was debating if I wanted to keep it or return it. The picture on the listing showed a black pair ear muffs but I got a woven-gray looking pair. Not necessarily a complete deal-breaker but definitely not what I had expected. Did wind up opening it and on initial inspection, they fit great and are very comfortable. Noise reduction is great and they are pretty accurate with their slim profile look. I have a narrow face so it was a must that they have a compact, slim look. Which they most definitely do. Will probably order the Peltor Sport Tactical 100 Electronic Hearing Protector (TAC100) just to have a back-up pair (hopefully this one will come in all black). But would definitely recommend the Venture Gear as they are very comfortable and functional.

These Venture Gear VGPME10 Clandestine Electronic Earmuff Hearing Protection work well and are very comfortable when adjusted properly. We own a small sporting good store and shooting range so have a good bit of experience with both regular and electronic hearing protection.The hearing protection comes with the required 2xAAA batteries, which was nice surprise. The earmuffs do a good letting normal speech through while attenuating the sharp sounds! These are also comfortable enough to be worn all day at the range.Highly Recommended!CFH

Bought these for the gun range and voices come through well and the muffs cancel the noise well. I did have to use a set of ear plugs with these muffs when a person was firing some sort of elephant gun, and I have done this before with more expensive muffs. Pretty new to the gun range and it is pretty amazing the type of weapons that people have, and it is cool when they let you fire them. I could still hears voices pretty clear even with the extra ear plugs which was nice. I have a largish head and these fit fine.

I guess for $25.00, they are what they are. These were a gift 2 years ago. Right away, only one side of the interior speakers worked, so the other side was only hearing protection. The comfort level is subpar as the pads are just really firm. These pads are secured to a cheap plastic edging, that has snapped and cracked in places to allow outside noise in unhindered. I only thought this was part of the electronic hearing portion until I realized my hearing was being adversely affected. Finally, I quit using them after the first year. Only now thought to write the review to save someone else from this mistake.I am the head rangemaster at my law enforcement agency, a SWAT member, and Sniper. I shoot a LOT, and I am around other shooters A LOT!!! Please don't waste your time or money on these. The 3M Peltorsat Wal-Mart for $65 have served me better. If you are on a budget for less, some $40 options are out there. If you are not on a range at least monthy, just settle for some comfortable old-school ear muffs that don't have a the new fangled technology. You may be hoarse from yelling to hear yourself, but a voice heals much faster than damaged eardrums.

Unfortunately, this headset fell very short from good. The sound attenuation while the headset is on, is not very rapid. You get a loud burst of sound follow by a sudden muffling. At times, while my shooting partner spoke, his voice was crisp and at times it muffled his voice. He was not shouting as he has a way better headset than these. I had to purchase an in ear pair and just left the headset off and have to do this pull one ear and put it back on when listening to someone speak. Overall they are okay in attenuating sound but the active aspect is not good at all.
