Great practice/basement amp for a reasonable price
I've switched over to mostly playing amp-less via amp sim pedals into a DAW + monitors, but still wanted to be able to sit down and quickly start noodling. Monoprice is known for producing decent amps at low prices that over-perform and so I took a chance on this little guy. Glad I did. The amp sounds pretty darn good for the price and you can dial in some nice clean and overdrive tones without the use of pedals. I do have a full pedalboard on the front end, and because the amp takes pedals well, the range of possible tones is pretty wide. Keep in mind that this is an inexpensive solid state amp with a mediocre 8" speaker, so it's not going to sound like a Blues Junior. But I can genuinely say that I am more than satisfied with this amp, and relative to what it cost, I rate it at 5 stars. As mentioned in other posts, there is no onboard reverb; I would suggest buying an inexpensive reverb pedal to go along with the amp (depending on the style of music you play).

Great like everyone says
I bought this based off of all the positive reviews, and ill say so far the first couple of hours have been great . It does have a good sound and everything works great. It was built well , uniform stapling and corner bracing , everything looks great. Ive paid twice as much for comparable amps that looked like they were built on a hungover monday. Sounds like more expensive solid state practice amps with plenty of dirt on the overdrive channel. Loving the 3.5 input for my phone to play some backing tracks to shred on. Perfect for the bedroom or a jam session as long as your bandmates arent trying to drown you out on purpose. If thats the case you need practice in the bedroom some more lol.

Decent practice amp
Arrived in good shape. I was pleasantly surprised at the open back design and good clean sound. The only oddity is that it doesn't work unless power and overdrive are both turned on, this seems to me to be a design flaw.

Best guitar amplifier for the money.
I have not used this amplifier much yet. Bought it and an electric guitar to learn to play in my spare time. I don't have much currently but plan to retire in several years. It is a high quality package especially considering the price. Monoprice makes great quality products a great prices. They are not cheap but the products are very good. This amp has not hiss or other noise that I can hear. I had bought an amplifier kit locally and the his was so bad I could use it. The sound quality is very nice also. Does play load enough to practice and has a good amount of control over the sound. The manual was not very thick but it was nicely organized and easy to read. I would most definitely buy this amplifier again!

Would buy again!
This is my first guitar amp as I am a beginner and from what I can tell by using it for a month now, it was worth it. When I bought my first bass amp for this price, it was pretty bad, but at this price point for Monoprice Amp, I would buy it again. What I like about it is that it's small so it doesn't take up a lot of space especially when you don't have a big room and you want to rock out. It's loud. I barely have the volume knob over halfway. Distortion is good if you want to play metal without having to buy a pedal. 3-way eq is pretty neat. Overall, if you are a beginner and need an amp that's not too expensive, this is a great option!

Excellent amp for the amazing price.
I have one, cost $78 last November. I bought another and ganged the 2 together because the amp has a LINE OUTPUT which is an really unheard of feature on an inexpensive practice amp. My little stack now with 2 powered 8" speakers blows me away. It's great for practice, responsive tone controls, quite electronics with a Aux input and that Line out jack not available on more expensive practice amps for some reason. $79 is a bargain, Buy it.

Like the quality and sound.
This, in my opinion, is a great quality practice amp with plenty of features for the 'weekend warrior' artist. I've listened to it with my electric and bass connected and the sound is clean and clear with no hum or (unintentional) distortion. I also have no need to crank it up full as my playing, at this point, is far inferior to the quality of the amp. It came packaged inside a box, inside a box, inside a box inside an Amazon box so I can't complain about the packaging, realistically, as it arrived it great shape. I would recommend this amp for anyone looking for an inexpensive, quality amp with good entry level options.

Overall, not a bad product. I was surprised how bright the sound was; lots of treble and presence. It takes a few minutes for you to dial in the tone that you want, because the lower mid-range is a bit too strong. I did not like the way Mid and Bass knobs were interacting with the sound, but that's subjective. Most note-worthy characteristic of the amp: the overdrive knob gives you lots of dirt and grunge. Don't expect the warm tone of a over-driven high-end tube amp, on the verge of breaking. This amp is not going to deliver that sound. But it is capable of giving you loudness, and lots of distortion. So even though it is cheap, it's not bad at all. Just bear in mind, you are buying the cheapest guitar amp on the market. So, what you get is not a tone you can fall in love with. What you get is a sound that is good enough for that amount of money. To whom would I recommend this? To a guitar player who has a decent large amp; And he/she is looking for something cheap, small and light to carry to casual get-togethers, or a second amp for the bedroom (just for occasional practice). If you're just starting to learn electric guitar and want to buy one, be sure to have an experienced person helping you with the EQ. Otherwise, you might get really disappointed. Right out of the box, this amp may not deliver a sound that you will fall in love with. But with sufficient tweaking, you can get a sound that is good enough.
