I have several Shun knives and needed scissors to complete the set. I saw this combo package for only a reasonable amount of money more than the single (large) scissors - so I bought the set which included smaller herb scissors. BTW - those smaller scissors can be used for many purposes so even if you do not have fresh herbs, you will still find a use. The scissors are expensive, but worth the money. They are NOT like the typical ones you can buy from kitchen or department store. They have the same quality as the Shun knives (best I’ve ever owned). The larger scissors are substantial - thicker and heavier than most. Quality material and razor sharp (like the Shun knives). I have arthritis in my hands and find the grips comfortable - large grip for thumb and the other grip is large enough to use all four fingers. Both scissors separate so you can wash/dry the blades before storing. Recommend highly.

These are very sharp and well made shears.

I have owned at least 22 different pairs of kitchen shears and they were uncomfortable and I had to use all my strength to cut anything. They all did not come apart to easily clean. I received these as an Anniversary gift from my boyfriend of 16 yrs. He saw me struggle and sometimes had to help me split poultry, I love to cook and he knew I was looking for a REALLY GOOD pair of shears. Best gift ever!! I use these for splitting pheasant, chickens and Turkeys. They cut wings everything so easily. I buy my wings whole and can cut 30 of them in about 7 minutes. They will also cut through poultry skin by using the tip portion of the shears. They come apart so easily to clean and the metal is part of the entire handle which I feel makes them easier to handle. I had another brands handle break when I was trying to split a chicken and put the end through my hand. I don’t worry about that with these. I also use the herb scissors for my fresh herb plants and any other small non meat item. I loved them so much I have bought them as a Wedding gift and Birthday gift.

We use these for trimming chicken and other kitchen tasks. Very sharp and strong. Very happy with the purchase.

The qaulity, fit and finish is outstanding. And razor sharp.

I upgraded from some 20 year old non-separable shears with a rusty bolt and a dull edge, so this was a huge step up. They detach easily for cleaning, and sharp and cut easily. So far I have used mainly to cut pizza with the large shears, cut the greens from beets, and the small ones to cut herbs, have not tried bones (and probably will not to preserve their edge). These uses have been extremely pleasant with these shears. My only negative was the packaging, which was incredibly difficult to open to the point where I was worried I would damage the shears.

I have been using a pair of the Shun Kitchen Shears for years. That pair still looks almost like new even though I put it in the dishwasher to wash. So, I purchased this set. Cutting up the Tetra Pak is so easy. So happy to see "Made in Japan" products.
