I am always willing to pay more for quality American Made products and tools. This being the case here. I recieved exactly what reviews Aimee shows in her photos. Black case (not blue). Working great for my Willys Jeep restoration. Would buy again.

When it comes to quality dial indicators, the three brands that come to mind are Central Tools, Starrett, and Mitutoyo. I chose this kit version because it comes with the magnetic base and everything I need for a quick setup when working on cars, motorcycles, or general machine shop work. The price on Amazon was quite low compared to other places I had looked, so I am a very satisfied customer.

I didn't receive the ones showing in the picture, The one I got doesn't say made in USA. It doesn't say where it's made. But it seems fine. Tried it ones. Three stars for that reason.

Have not seen the Snap-On version of this product in person but I believe Central Tools makes them. In other words, this a great tool at a great price. Made in the US. Only issue is the needle goes out of adjustment about 1/10 of a thousandth of an inch for each measurement, but there is a thumbscrew for adjustment that makes this issue trivial.

Very strong steel parts and steel bars - the grip screws will not strip. Made in the USA except for the magnet. Seems quite accurate.
