Digitally remastered edition of the British all-girl Hard Rock band's fifth album, originally released in 1985. Girlschool originally formed in 1978 as part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement that also gave US Iron Maiden, Def Leppard and Saxon. After being taken under the collective wings of Motorhead on the latter's 1979 'Bomber' tour, the all-girl hard rockers were signed to Bronze Records for four albums of punk-tinged heavy metal, making regular appearances on BBC TV's Top of the Pops and in the pages of Sounds and Kerrang! Magazine. RUNNING WILD was their first LP to be released without original guitarist and singer Kelly Johnson. Founder members Kim McAulliffe (guitar, lead vocals) and Denise Dufort (drums) were joined by Gil Weston-Jones (bass) Jackie Bodimead (lead vocals, keyboards) and Cris Bonacci (guitar).

One of my favorites
One of my favorite Girlschool albums.. I have been a fan since Demolition way back in 1980. I did not think they would make it after Kelly(RIP) left but they proved me wrong. This one is right up there with Icon's Night of the Crime and LeMans s/t. Too bad the record label didn't put more into this release. Saw them when they opened for Iron Maiden and again with Quiet Riot. Not one bad song on this release. Glad it finally came out on CD.

Running Wild title track is amazing, check out the video
Where to start...wanted this forever but just recently released to cd! Running Wild title track is amazing, check out the video, pure 80's! The rest of the album is great, the remaster is superior and sounds crisp! This is the only Girlschool album I own, so I cannot compare it to other albums. If your into 80's rock and want something a little heavier than Vixen but not as heavy as Warlock this is a good balance! Highly recommended!

Girlschool never disapoints Running Wild rocks!!
I've listened to Girlschool since the 80s what an awesome band! This album "Running Wild" is one of their most polished productions they have incredibly hooky tunes I just wish radio here in America would have jumped on them. But who cares now it's simply great rock-n-roll!!

All Glammed Up but with Nowhere to Go.
Maybe if this had been released under a different name, it would have met with more success. certainly there is virtually nothing here that sounds like the greasy, punky, rock hard Girlschool that audiences had grown to love. Still, as signified by the big-hair and the expensive production, this was London's favourite all-girl band moving well and truly into Bon Jovi, Motley Crue and Poison country. Essentially a US album recorded in the UK, 'Running Wild' has its moments, but it's not quite good enough to be completely convincing. The girls were venturing into unfamiliar territory and their slight unease shows. Still, guitarist Cris Bonacci excels, although I am inclined to believe that her fretboard punishing was reined in slightly as she was evidently capable of much more. It's also a little strange hearing someone other than Kim McAuliffe on lead vocals. The album was not a hit in the States and was not even released over here. For die-hard fans and those who have a soft spot for '80s glam/hair metal. The lavishly illustrated booklet puts it all into perspective far better than I can.

that bad album in everyone's discography
Finally on Compact Disc....the one-off Mercury album...I've been a Girlschool fan since Hit & Run's release....I own them all on CD and Vinyl (if available)... This album is the big mistakeThey know it and have admitted it. It's like KISS's The Elder... or Def Lep's SLANG... or Aerosmtih's Night in the Ruts.and should I mention "Club Ninja"?If you are a true Girlschool fan you already own this by now. Casual fans: Do Not Begin Here. Please buy Hit & Run or a Greatest Hits comp.
