Product good, but with some warnings
Installed this and after 2 days of charging, it works great. On at dusk, recharges during the day. Much more visible than the metal numbers that were here when we moved in. The house front faces south, so we are an ideal location. To put on the numbers, you peel them off a sheet, and use a template to align them neatly. Templates come for 3 and 4 numbers. Don't know how these will wear over time, as there is nothing protecting them.Size of numbers is roughly 2 1/2" tall, 1 1/2" wide. Smaller than you might think.Warnings:- There are 3 of each number. So if you happen to live at 7777, you are out of luck, as there are not enough 7's.-Ignore most of the images in the ad - this is not as big as it seems in some of the photoshopped images. This device is about 8 1/2" by 6 1/2". So the picture showing the numbers over a garage, where it seems to be about 1/3 of a car width is probably at least twice the true size .- Measure your spot before you buy- The battery will need to be replaced in about a year, per the instructions. It is a rechargeable battery.

Needs direct sun to charge fully
I have a dark plaque that my house numbers are on and while you can see it in the daytime, it is impossible to see at dusk or at night. So, when this item became available, I decided to give it a try. Here is what I found:1. This is smaller than it seems in the picture and thinner too. The solar cell top is not very deep. This is good in that it lets you mount it lower without worrying about it sticking out too far. The sharp slant on the top also lets you mount this on a wall that has an overhang and still get sun on the panel to charge it.2. As mentioned in the details on the website, there are only three sets of numbers so if you have four of the same number on your home address, this will NOT work. Also, there is only one set of alpha numbers included.3. Speaking of numbers, you will need to peel parts of the sheet off to be able to get to the numbers to put them on this device. The numbers and characters are created by cutting a flat sheet of black adhesive plastic. The do NOT peel off the waste plastic for you, you need to do that. This plastic is about the same thickness as the plastic electricians tape and just as finicky. Use patience to remove and to place the numbers and DEFINITELY use the stencil to align and place the numbers if you want it to look nice.4. Use a level to drill the holes for the screws because if this is not level, it will look wrong.5. I have an East facing wall with overhang from the roof and trees and I was still able to place this so that it gets sunlight to charge and so that it is easily seen from the street. The numbers are easy to see during the day and are very easy to see at night. I checked at 4AM and the numbers were still brightly lighted.Once I got the number placed and the air bubbles out of the vinyl, the rest was easy to do. Just takes patience to get the numbers on correctly. The unit looks nice and seems to work well at this point. Time will tell how well it lasts.
