Three ices the cake!
Down By the River is book 3 in the Grace Valley trilogy by Robin Carr. I didn’t think a third book would keep my attention as well as the first two. I was pleasantly surprised; but the third book is as good as the first. It is difficult in Grace Valley for anyone to have a secret for long. However, June Hudson has managed to keep her lover, Jim Post, a secret for a while. Now it is going to come out; but how will the town react to June’s being pregnant with no husband? When Jim does return to Grace Valley, will he be pleased with the idea that she is pregnant? Will he propose?Chris Foster’s boys just keep getting into trouble. How will Chris get them out of it or will he? What will his wife Nancy do when she finds out what they have done? Many questions come up in Grace Valley. Why didn’t Mrs. Mull go back to the hospital to have her second operation? Will she stay in the mountains while her children stay in Grace Valley? After running of their pastor, the Presbyterian Church gets a new pastor- a single man. What is he hiding? Which female in Grace Valley will get his attention? Who is the new man in Aunt Myrna’s life? How does Thanksgiving go for the town? You get hints that something bad is going to happen; but you aren’t sure what it is. How will the town react?

Tying this series and Virgin River really let you understand the heart of the characters! I could not put the Grace Valley series down until I got to the end.

So Good I Didn't Want it to End
Down By the River is the third book in Robyn Carr's Grace Valley trilogy and is primarily a continuation of the events featuring the characters in books one and two.June's lover, Jim Post, has retired from his DEA job and returns to Grace Valley to live with June and their forthcoming child and learns that pregnant women are subject to mood swings.June, used to working all hours, doing everything, learns she must delegate, and she finds this hard to do.Aunt Myrna has been corresponding with another writer for twenty years and she's all aflutter because he's coming to visit. Jurea Mull's husband, Clarence, who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, finds life in town more than he can handle, and Chris, June's old flame, is unable to control his wild teenage sons who seem bent on pranks. A horrific accident makes him rethink his position and brings back to Grace Valley his wife Nancy, once June's enemy as they both were after Chris. Even the Reverend Harry Shipton has his own demons.Perceptions change, and events cause people to change over the course of time. June and Nancy become best friends, Chris discovers an occupation where he feel competent and Jim fits in with the regulars just fine. And everyone wants to know when June and Jim are going to marry.Down By the River shows what caring is all about, especially when flood waters threaten to overtake the town. In each of her books, Ms. Carr has created characters with such depth that you want to continue reading about them, but especially in Down By the River does this characterization shine.I finished this book reluctantly, knowing there isn't going to be a fourth Grace Valley book, but the people of Grace valley will remain with me for a long time to come.

I Want To Live in Grace Valley!
I am going to go back and leave a review on the first two books. I was in such a hurry to read this final book, I forgot to leave a review on the other two. I loved, loved, loved this series. Lots of twists and turns alone the way. The people of Grace Valley were very real and the stories were some of the best I've read! I don't want to leave any spoilers, so you really need to read all three in order. I wish the author would go back and write some more books in this series! Please!

Amazing
This book is the perfect ending to a wonderful series. I haven't cried reading a book in years! Robyn Carr knows how to tie up a story and knows when to quit. The storyline didn't get stale because she didn't push it to get one more book. I usually read books that are kindle unlimited but allow myself to buy a few special authors. Robyn Carr is definitely on that list.

LOVED IT
I am reviewer #138 so doubt many will read this one but I HAVE TO SAY I LOVED THIS BOOK. I BOUGHT ALL THREE IN A SET AND THIS WAS THE #3 BOOKS. I WAS ANXIOUS TO SEE HOW EVERYTHING ENDED FOR THIS TOWN.note: I HAD NO IDEA THE CAPITAL WAS LOCKED IN, PLEASE DISREGARD, IT DIDN'T MEAN ANYTHING SPECIALI WAS SORT OF PUT OUT WITH June BEING SO SILLY OVER GETTING MARRIED. SHE HAD SO MANY GREAT MARRIAGES AROUND HER THAT IT SEEMS SHE WOULD HAVE JUMPED QUICKER. BUT, WHATEVER. IN THIS STORY June GOES THROUGH THE FINAL MONTHS OF HER PREGNANCY. ALL THE LOOSE ENDS ARE TIED UP AND WE LEAVE THE TOWN ON A GOOD NOTE.there ARE A FEW VERY BIG EVENTS THAT CAUSE THE WHOLE COMMUNITY TO PULL TOGETHER. I THOAUGHT IT WAS A GREAT READ AND I ENJOYED EVERY WORD. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. I ENJOYED SEEING THE BAD GUYS GET THEIR JUST DESSERTS AND THE HEA FOR EVERYONE. GOOD READ.

Great author
Robyn Carr continues to hit the ball out of the park. Her characters are so believable, & this third book either reintroduces or introduces all the characters, depending on whether this is your first book in the series or not. Have yet to read a Robyn Carr that did not make me want to read more about these people.

Absolutely great book!
By a great author. Part of a series of three who permanently reside on my "keeper" shelf. I have all her print books, but bought the e-book so I can have the series on my Kindle as well.

Gute Unterhaltung
