14 in. White Acrylic Globe - with 5.25 in. Neckless Opening - American 3201-14020-003

I used this to cut out mouths and glue on parts and everything smoothly for my Deadmau5 helmet. Very craftable. However, if you are going to use any high heat super glue or saw usage on the parts furthest away from the opening and the top, be careful as it is very fragile. The middle part can melt and crack. But as always, caution is your best friend.

I've made 3 Mau5heads from these and will make several more. They are thick at the top and bottom as others have mentioned, but thin in the middle where they have expanded the most in the molding process. I have taken to putting a layer of fiberglass on the inside around the center to reinforce before I cut out the eyes and mouth. If you don't the area around the top of the mouth is very thin and will likely crack when you cut it. 120mm security domes are great for the eyes, paint them from the backside in several thin coats.

It's probably my fault. I don't know but I never order things like this before. But I mesured the old ones at 14 inches. These are said to be 14 inches but they are 12 inches. Like I said maybe I'm missing something. But they are working for me fine and look great so I don't care.

...and found it worked perfectly as a replacement for my lightpost globe outside! Awesome! When I was younger I had the 12" deadmau5 globe, but I took it off the post to change the bulb and it cracked on the pavement. This one will replace it.I'm glad I came across this cause god knows, when I was trying to search for "light post globe" this thing wasn't turning up. I had to wade through a crap ton of ugly light fixtures and never found it. The moment I googled 'deadmau5 head' - Pow! Exactly what I needed!

I ordered this globe for my deadmau5 head that i am making for halloween, needless to say it came in the mail a day earlier than what it was suspected to so that was a bonus. However once i opened it i noticed about a 5 inch long crack near the opening on the globe. It was just a good thing that i have a big head and that is the only mark, because i have to cut that part out for my head opening so its all ok.I did however look at some of the other reviews from their website and noticed that a few other people have said that they received theirs with some cracks in it too. So i guess if you are going to make a deadmau5 head it will be perfect, but if you are buying it for a lamp, just examine it when you receive it in the mail and make sure there are no cracks or dings on it.As for price though, you really can't beat it. Other globes made of the same material and diameter are around $40+ so I guess you also get what you pay for in my experience.All in all i am glad i bought it and that the crack in it didn't really affect the build on my project i am making. I would have given five stars, but i figured three just to let people know about the crack.

While we made it work, though in an earthquake it will fall down. The old globes survived 2 earth quakes with out problem
