Meinl Percussion Bongo Drums 6.5", 7.5" — NOT MADE IN CHINA

Very nice sound great quality skins

Best semi-pro bongo drums for the price. They do not come tuned, so you will have to tune them with the supplied tunning wrench. Once you have them tuned, make sure you untune them when you're done playing. This is very important, as you don't want your drumheads to pop over time. You have to give your drumheads a break from the tension it built up while being tuned. Untuning them after you play will release the tension and they will last you longer. I saw a few reviews where they popped the Macho (the smaller drum). The Macho carries a higher pitch therefore it is a bit tighter than the Hembra (bigger drum) while tuning. I always untune my Hembra 1/4 turn and the Macho 1/2 turn after playing. Always wipe down your drumhead and shell after playing. I like to use regular Kleenex on the drumheads as it softer and absorbent. Absorbs the moisture off the drumheads left by your hands. They're not difficult to tune and top quality. I looked at LP, Tycoon and Toca lowest price models. LP - (Latin Percussion) sub model CP (Cosmic Percussion) for around $99 with 90 days warranty. Toca - Synergy Series are priced around $72, but small heads, 6 - 6 3/4. Tycoon - start off over $100. Meinl - the only one that will give a 2-year warranty. Best semi-pro Bongos and sound quality for the price. The one thing that I dislike about these bongos are the uncommon head size 6.5 - 7.5, if you ever need to replace them you will have to purchase them from Meinl website $36 - $38. Don't forget a little TLC when you're done playing.

Very nice bongos. I've used them for several concerts since I bought them. Nice tone.

I've heard great things about Meinl from other percussionist. These bongos are my first hand drums I've owned and I haven't been able to stop practicing. The drums came in a beautiful black finish with new skins that are very easy on the hands. The tone when tuned sounds ready for live performance and recording. It was good money spent and I can't wait to continue to make music with them.

These bongos are a nice weight and have good sound. They were a gift for a beginner and he was pleased with them. They are durable but will take some practice to learn to play them well.

These things are exactly as advertised, hours of bongo fun! Maybe the least expensive semi-pro quality musical instrument in existence

Granted, I am not a musician and far from being any kind of expert... I just like to drum on things... But I had a $100 gift card from my parents in law and thought why not have some fun with it. Not knowing anything about the company, I did a little research and it looked professional online. I got these in today and have been enjoying them! They feel robust. The sound is good. Very nice size. The quality of the make is great. I don't know anything about tuning them, but they come with a wrench. I just enjoy looking at them and using them.

These bongos have a composite shell which looks very good. Buffalo hide heads are top quality. Decent hardware. The sound is on the high side but it has a very nice pop when the heads are tensioned. Very satisfied with these bongos. I am curious how a $500 pair would sound compared to these, but I can’t imagine they’d be that much better. A professional percussionist checked them out and said they were just fine and the higher pitch would complement his congas.

やはり、価格との関係か、音が薄っぺらい感じがして、キツめのチューニングで、頻繁にギーギー音がする。

Conforme à mes attentes. Envoi rapide c’est top

I so much love it ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Me gustó mucho el sonido para ser un bongo de plástico. Por el precio y la calidad realmente fue una buena compra.
