One Good Turn

Good read. Read the book in no time.

This was a very cheap download from Amazon. It was an excellent quick read about a young man trying to regain his memory in WW1. The harsh brutality of this war is described in sickening detail and the futility of it is emphasised as the young soldier gradually regains his memory. Themes such as right versus wrong, good versus bad, bravery versus cowardice and the issue of justice are contained within these few pages. A very powerful story and thought provoking book. An excellent read at a ridiculously low price!

superb author and story teller, best yet.

Didn’t realise it was such a short book, though ‘quick reads’ should have been a giveaway!

This book has few pages and is easy to read - but don't get fooled by that. It has a well crafted and powerful story to tell. I'm really positively surprised (I wasn't expecting too much from it - usually not the kind of book I will pick up) and I ended up enjoying the book very much - although the story is not a happy one. It is a really engaging and well written story. Recommended indeed!

Great imagination with the twist of truth ,this is a great escapist read ,full of action with no compromise .I have just stated to read Chris Ryan novels ,you pick them up and cannot put it down till the finish

Not one of the best books written by him, if in fact it was he who wrote it

I am not familiar with any of of Chris Ryan's works so I took a bit of a punt and purchased this quick read. I purchased a few of Andy McNabs quick reads previously so this influenced my 'Chris Ryan purcahse.' A cracking move I say! The short story is very graphic in its details of the Western Front and this grips the reader from the start. A superb little read and I will be hunting down further Chris Ryan works. Top stuff.

Chris Ryan is a brilliant Author. I have read his non-fiction novels and this has led me to these fictional stories. his background is clear and he uses his experience in the SASR to bring these books to life.
