Oh dear!! The backstory had so much potential. A woman being auctioned off as a “virgin bride” and a ménage to boot, a vengeful man coming after one of our heroes, and a sibling who needed to be taught a lesson, who wouldn’t love a story with all that in it?What we got was a lot of cheesey lines, the same words used over and over and over again!!I know it was only a short story. But with less sex, we could have had a really good story.Ian and Kane always knew they would share a wife. They’d seen it whilst on their travels in the army, they’ve lived with it on the Ranch they co-own with other soldiers from their platoon. (Book and characters) They hadn’t expected to find her at a brothel being auctioned off!!Emma woke up to hearing her stepbrother selling her to a woman!! And all because she caught her brother copulating with the maid on the kitchen table!! (I mean, at least make it a murder or something a little more than catching your brother at it!!)If that wasn’t bad enough, the woman owned a brothel!!Emma could either pay the debt off by becoming a prostitute, or participating in an auction, she would be married off!!Emma went with option 2.....We then spend the rest of the story having sex, sex, oh and more sex!!!🦋

I was disappointed in this story. It was less of a romance and more about control. Two men decide they want to share a woman. Emma's step brother wants rid of her and sells her to a brothel. There she is auctioned out to be married to the highest bidder. Ian and Kane bid the highest, with one legally marrying her.To my mind, they humiliate her in all ways in the guise of 'caring' for her, but it does not come across as such. They realise she is well brought up and innocent, yet expect her to obey their every sexual whim in quite a blunt manner. It is basically all about domination.

Set in the Wild West of Montana, this is a short novella length (about 150 pages I think) story about Emma, a young woman who has been sold to a brothel by her step-brother after witnessing him engaged in a non-marital and very questionable sexual act. Emma is given an ultimatum... she can "work" over the next few years to pay off her debt to the brothel or she can be sold at a marriage auction. As an inexperienced virgin, the former terrifies her so she chooses the latter...Kane and Ian have unusual needs and very specific tastes when it comes to women and sex. They developed these while serving with the British military where they learned about cultural differences to marriage. They've built a ranch in rural Montana where they can live as they wish, with similar-minded friends, without the prying eyes of neighbours and townsfolk. They've been looking for the perfect woman for a while. When they attend the brothel auction and they see poor demure Emma stripped down to her undergarments on the stage, they make an impulse bid and win.The immediate auction aftermath sees a rushed, backstage marriage and Emma's introduction into serving two men. This is continued with some very hot scenes in a stagecoach and again, back at home on the ranch.I actually enjoyed this book - Ir was a good novella to read in between reading deeper, more serious stuff. It was a quick, easy read and could easily be finished in one sitting. The era added to the 'taboo-ness' of the erotica and made it even more exciting. To be honest I could have done without the disciplinary aspect of the relationship - it makes me really uncomfortable unless it's performed as part of a consensual BDSM relationship (which it very clearly wasn't!). In particular, there was a scene towards the end where Kane and Ian spank Emma to the point of tears while their friends watch with minimal explanation about her wrongdoings beforehand - it just felt a bit too reactive and aggressive for me. The sex was very hot and very descriptive without being cheesy. Also the plot was basic but decent - although the whole Kane/Evers thing was a bit odd (I imagine that will be be continued in future books).This is definitely a series I'd continue with, although not when it's priced at £2.80 for a single 171 page Kindle ebook. I guess this is one to keep an eye on.

This is first book in the Bridgewater Ménage which starts of very quickly without much explaining. Emma wakes up groggily and heavy headed in a brothel where her step-brother has sold her to it's madam.That same day she put up for auction as a virgin bride.Kane and Ian have always known they would share a bride but until they met Emma they didn't think it would happen.This book is very erotic and has BDSM aspects to it.The husband believe greatly in spanking for what they believe as offences Emma's committed.If your offended by this or do not like voyeurism or ménage then this is definitely not the book for you but if you are then this is a very panty wetting hot sex scene book you'll love. Like the end and HEA but I would have liked a epilogue just felt it finished abruptly with no proper ending.Looking forward to reading more and the other guy getting there HEA.

How would you feel? You wake up in a brothel to the sound of your step brother selling you off- then you are given a choice by the madam who bought you, work off the debr (she has spent a fair bit of money on you) or agree to be the subject of a marriage auction. Not being a stupid woman Emma ends up in a situation she never imagined was even possible.This was a surprisingly sexy and fun read. The men, Kane and Ian are dominant kind and tender, Emma is surprisingly feisty and self assured.There isn't an ounce of realism in this story but that is completely irrelevent. It has hot sex scenes, a good back story to the main characters and enough pace and style to keep the reader engrossed.Short and appealing. A few irritating format errors but overall a good historical erotic romance and I will be reading others in the series.
