Davinci Signature 6-Drawer Double Dresser in White

I really wanted to love this dresser. I'm preparing my nursery and the davinci crib I got was perfect. It was completely blemish free, it was easy to assemble, it was reasonably priced, it was gorgeous. And because I am a compulsive person, I really really really wanted the dresser to match perfectly to the crib. I did not want any white dresser because whites can vary. I wanted a davinci white dresser.I read the reviews ahead of time. I knew that most people were upset that the dresser was not very high quality, that it scratched easily, that it was a pain to assemble, and that it just wasn't worth $400. But my crib was so wonderful. My crib had arrived perfect and undamaged. Surely the dresser would be just as good.Suffice it to say, it's not. First of all, unpacking it from the box itself was disappointing because piece after piece had MAJOR cosmetic flaws and damage sites. These are not the kinds of damage that might arise in shipping; they were clearly problems from when the pieces were first born into existence. Perhaps that should have been my warning to turn back, pack it back up, send it back, demand my $400 back. But the package itself had been nearly 100lbs and just getting it into the nursery was a nightmare; these were all cosmetic problems, and surely I wouldn't mind them once it was assembled.Which brings me to the assembly. I am a crafty person and I like putting together furniture. My partner is an engineer who disassembles and reassembles things for fun. I knew other reviewers said the assembly was a slog and time-consuming (~3hrs for two people) but surely it would be fine for us. But oh hubris, my old weakness. To be short, this assembly was not fun; it was a gigantic, needless pain. The instructions were bad, the parts were not clearly labeled, and the back of the dresser requires you to HAND-SCREW 32 screws into place without prior divets being made and by the way, if you use a power drill you void the warranty.At the end of all of this, I have my dresser that is the exact and perfect shade of white that my crib is. Because I am a moderately nuts person, I know that it would have eaten away at me if I had two different shades of white right next to each other. So while I do not like this dresser, I also don't hate it (hence the two stars, not one). But I think that if I had to do it twice, I would pick a different crib that had a better reviewed, matching dresser.

We ordered the Davinci crib/toddler conversion, dresser and changing topper to match.I was very hesitant when ordering this set because of the mixed reviews...I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. We were apparently lucky ones because there were a lot of reviews that mentioned damage. No scratches or damage upon opening. Very pretty set and we are happy with this purchase.Fairly easy to put together, simple instructions and I was able to do it by myself in a few hours.

We bought this dresser with the matching crib. This was also very quick and easy to assemble, especially the drawers. I'd give it 5 stars if it were just a bit bigger. I expected full size drawers, but they are definitely a bit smaller than my dresser and both of my other children's dressers, I couldn't get the drawer organizers I ordered to fit, and there is a wood block in the two front corners of these drawers that are a bit awkward. I still love it though. Sturdy but lightweight enough for us to move easily (not so easily a baby/toddler could do so).

When it arrived I took the time to unbox everything and set it into nice piles so I could find everything easily. I went to screw in the first machined screw only to find the receiving hole was not threaded, but the others were. Customer service was great, they sent out a replacement part, which is all I was looking for. I’m 8 months pregnant and was able to put this dresser together in about 2.5-3 hours by myself. It looks very good and feels sturdy, overall I’m pleased with it.

So, when searching a great dresser for my new daughter, we chose this one. Little did we know the absolute terrible quality of materials and shoddy construction would lead to needing the company to replace it not only once, but two times.For $399.00 this is a complete rip off. The adhesives are terrible, wood quality is suspect and the drawers are very small. This piece is worth a maximum of $100.00 IF that.The company took no responsibility or even attempted to expedite shipping of the replacement parts I needed. All in all it took over a month to finally get a fully assembled dresser.A terrible customer service experience and million dollar baby should be ashamed of themselves.
