To Delonghi and Amazon
To Delonghi and Amazon ReviewDelonghi; The 4 in 1 is excellent and costs did reduced versus three or four times pending kwh in a persons location; The only missing option would be a timer much like that is on your Delonghi heater in towers form which perhaps may be only via wifi yet I prefer a manual set with the ability to track on an excel as a persnickety expense analysis, I loved the ac's and the heater's and have two. While this one I had to return due to handling unawareness, it would be good to provide instructions to sellers on best handling in terms product awareness for delivery. Not placing upside down since many do not know, Not to run the ac for at least 12 hours yet I waited 24 hours for the refrigerate to recirculate properly otherwise damage or failure can and often occurs. Plus additional instruction for buyers of the same details right on top with the hoses or other connections as a precautionary which will reduce returns for both Delonghi and Amazon or other sellers, with additional instruction to unplug, and drain once a week in the beginning to determine humidity effect in an area since unknown otherwise since it's not end of season in all areas, and this will reduce the concerns for warranty or replacements.Lastly, I will include a few additional details and one major positive in my next review, on the second I returned yet only since a buyer would prefer 90 days to return, at minimum 45 days would be excellent.Amazon; The only areas of concern were strictly and primarily delivery handling, and to note had that gone smoothly behind the scenes and in front. In addition to a minimum of 45 days to return, I would have kept, if had the opportunity to learn of the Delonghi, the "whats normal, what's not" is the ac fine after the delivery imprint in mind again strictly that delivery was unaware, rather than being concerned with many negative and or conflicting posts, not preferring a warranty claim which have negative posts too between life's chaos research and check the ac, receive a months electric for the insight or affirmation. The latter of the sentence occurs exactly one day after return, since I received on May 8th, which required a return by May 7th, with uncertainty, yet actually utilize by waiting 24 hours to recirculate refrigerant. Thereafter in keep running on a schedule and even random based on heat, I was able to calculate the missing 8 days for the actual costs on average for the month with a more accurate to be determined.

These machines last
This new AC replaces a 15 year old version of the same one. The old one did not owe me a single cent given it's outstanding performance over the years...not a minute's trouble in all that time. It has always been in my son's "man cave" (the room where he grew up with his computers, games, etc.). Now he is a grown man about to enter law school and, gratefully, still living at home where I can continue to guide him from time to time. Anyway, after being raised on a farm where we learned to respect the service of any animal or machine that served us well over the years and then dies...well, it sort of really stings when they go. So, here's to another 15+ years of great service from a great company and a great machine.

*UPDATED* Feels lovely. Powerful and enough for our middle floor
* UPDATE | September 2022*I have been using this unit all summer long and wanted to come back to update my review. As far as the A/C mode goes, I have learned that I must clean the filter screen on the back every week due to having dogs, it tends to get dusty quickly and becomes noticeably loud while powered on. Even then in times of delayed cleaning, it still pumped out cool air very well. Overall, I am so pleased with the AC performance having temps in the 90’s all summer that I even considered a semi-permanent install, by cutting a hole in the wall to use instead of the window. The heat function is another story, however - We are now at the time of the year where I have used the heat function on two cold days and while the heat does work, it’s short lived. To my dismay, I keep getting an “HL” error which implies the water tray is too full and therefore shuts the unit off until it is emptied. To do this every once in a while seems like a fair maintenance routine however, I got this error upwards to three times in the same day and draining the unit isn’t exactly the easiest process considering the drain plug is located at the very bottom of the unit which requires me to either lift the unit while draining into a container or to just place the unit on top of a large towel and drain it before bringing out the towel. It’s messy and not exactly a task I want to spend time doing multiple times a day. When I looked into this, the manual states draining is a normal occurrence, however is designed to be emptied seasonally… it seems as though the humidity may have been at play & granted yes, while it had been raining on and off during this time, I was not expecting nearly a liter of water to be collected. I wish there was a way to hook the drain hose up to a container, but that’s not a possibility unless I raise the already large unit on something.* ORIGINAL | May 2022 *Our central air conditioning unit/furnace went out about two years ago and as young homeowners we have not been able to justify the amount it cost to replace it due to it being an outdated unit. In a trilevel home, over the last few summers we had a portable air conditioning unit on the upper level which did help but the mid-level was still pretty uncomfortable as well. As the weather starts to get a lot warmer now I was able to set this up and have been able to try it over the last few days where we’ve had both cold and hot weather. So far, I am extremely impressed with how easy it was to set this up, as well as how powerful it is both heating and cooling the space. Living at a high altitude, we don’t have much humidity to be concerned about so I’m not sure if I will ever necessarily need to use the dehumidifier, but it is nice to know that it’s an option to have available if needed. I installed the app for this unit as well which is a nice convenience for those interested in adopting smart home technologies. Otherwise, having the remote available as well is great.I did have to install it vertically in the window, and because there were no extra pins for the extenders, I had go use mini zip ties. At this price, it would have been nice for them to include enough insulation tape for the entire length of the window extenders on either sides though… the amount provided only covers the length of 3 extenders, instead of 4, for one side. Therefore, I’ll need to go get some to install on the other side to ensure a tight fit.

Not as reliable as they used to be.
Barely lasted 1.5 years then broke down. Had these before and they lasted forever... not sure what went wrong but for 550.00 bucks it should have better lasting quality. I barely used this thing.

Draining condensate
Problems with the condensate draining and lower drain is impossible to drain unless you elevate the whole unit
