In particular, the AREDS (Age Related Eye Disease Study) research has shown that increased antioxidant levels delays and possibly prevents the development of macular degeneration; the initial antioxidant supplement used in the AREDS was a multivitamin (vit C 500 mg/day, vit E 400 IU/day, beta carotine 15 mg/day that is 25,000 IU/day, Zinc oxide 80 mg/day and Cupric oxide 2 mg/day); make sure that you take a vitamin supplementation that has these components but no beta carotene or only 10% of this beta carotene dosage, because most diets contain sufficient amounts of these and overdosing is potentially harmful; consider taking curcumin BCM-95 nutritional supplementation for a high dose of BCM-95 (take this with fish, or krill, or flax seed oil capsules); another effective formulation is CuraMed 750 mg; the best way to maintain a high antioxidant level is to follow a raw vegan diet together with broiled fish. FYI, I take EACH DAY: two (2) capsules of Curcumin BCM-95 800mg and two (2) capsules of KRILL Oil 1000mg. Hope this is helpful in answering your question!
