A brief digression before I review this: if you have silver plate items, please don’t use Tarn-X Or other similar silver dip, cleaners. I mean, if it’s brand spanking new silver plate, and you’ve absolutely got to get deep black tarnish off fine. But otherwise take the amount of effort that older pieces deserve, and use a product like this cloth. It’s much less, wearing on the silver and cleans away the tarnish pretty quickly. Not instantly – – a small amount of elbow grease is involved. But I think you will be satisfied with the results.One note: if you have never bought a jewelry cloth before, remember one thing – – do not ever wash them. Do not ever rinse them. Do not feed them after midnight. Wait… That’s a different thing. Anyway, you can make these things essentially black with tarnish and they still work. I usually recommend a pair of gloves when I’m doing silver polishing because no matter what you’re using, It will end up getting on your hands, and though I don’t imagine that’s a major problem with this item, it’s just a good habit to get into. Use gloves when cleaning.
