Don't buy
It mostly worked at first, but it didn't take long for it to stop working. When it worked, it would occasionally change from a flashing blue light (indicating all is working properly) to a solid red indicator. Turning it off and back on would correct the issue. Yes, I also reformatted the card a couple of times, as well. On occasion for no reason it would power cycle. The frequency of self power cycling gradually increased, to the point of constantly shutting off and back on every few minutes. This morning I'd had enough- I unplugged the cable, grabbed the unit and wrenched it off the base (the sound of the plastic snapping was EXQUISITE), and threw it in the trash (after I removed the card, of course). Let this be a lesson boys and girls- if you pay for cheap Chinese crap, you get cheap Chinese crap.

Works great when it works
Video quality: It's great from the front camera. Night vision is plenty acceptable at this price, not much to worry about in lit, urban areas. Quality is kinda potato from the rear camera, which looks like it's just some generic reversing camera with a set of LEDs that light up if you apply power to one of the extra wires.Connection: Easy enough with the hardwire kit... tap one wire into always-on power, tap the other into Ignition-On power, ground it, and everything is taken care of through the micro-USB connections.Annoyance: Being a capacitor version, there is not an easy way to power it up if it isn't in the GPS mount... so you can't pull it off the mount behind the rear view mirror or wherever and check footage on the go very easily. In actual use: I had mine set up to record stop-motion when parked. I noticed it tends to ditch the file being used at the point the car is turned on... so it's like you'll never see yourself or whoever walk up to your car, get in and start it.Intermittent function: After only a couple of months of warmer/hot weather (Indiana, so not exactly Florida/Texas/Arizona hot), the thing started flaking out... rebooting all the time, corrupting files, etc. Because I'm one to find causes, I figured out that the mount to the GPS base (Camera slides sideways into the base and clicks into place, where 4 spring-loaded pins make contact and provide power and GPS data to the camera) was getting loose, pretty much because the plastic structure that holds the two together was malformed with heat and/or vibration. I juked a few things around and got it solid again and the camera worked just as good as ever for a month or two before it went back to flaking out depending on how you jiggled it in the ever-loosening GPS mount.I'm pretty much done screwing with it as my main dash cam, too much dinking around for my tastes. Maybe I'll try to make it work as a mobile one I can use in rental cars or non-primary cars, but it's getting yanked from my daily driver.

The cam records good quality video, when it works.
This camera produces very clear high definition video when it works. I have this camera installed on my rear windshield. Recently, my car broke on the highway and I needed the video. I noticed the camera did not have recorded/saved videos from random dates. I checked the settings, but nothing unusual was selected.I continue to use it, and I noticed the same problem. It looks like the camera does not always record :9This product has potential, but I guess, the vendor has to fix the software.

Not the same video quality as the based on the Ambarella chipset
Has almost the same feature set as the Ambarella-based mini 080x cams, but in this case, the chipset has notorious video compression artifacts, even in "superfine" quality. Also the night quality is generally lower than the Ambarella-based.All in all is a usable camera, but fairly disappointed by the much lower coding quality of the MSC8328P chipset.

Not as good as an older model I had
The video quality is not as good as the same one I purchased 5 years ago. At night license plates are unreadable and daytime is ok but not great. Disappointed and shopping for a replacement.

Small foot print.
This is my second Mini 805 Cam. I expect the same great quality I've experienced with my first Mini 805, the only challenge being the menu. This camera will be installed in my second vehicle.

It shuts off every other minute and restarts which is very annoying. If warranty replaces my camera and I don’t ...
Everything has worked well except for constant rebooting that started about 4 months after install. It shuts off every other minute and restarts which is very annoying. If warranty replaces my camera and I don’t have this issue again, I’ll update my review to 5 stars since all other aspects work as described.
