Fits 2017 Sorento 2.4L and Fixed Oil Light Issue
I bought this to fix the following issue: oil pressure indicator light when oil is warmed up and engine is at <1500 RPM or idle. If my Sorento had the 3.3L V6, then it would have been covered under the extended (150,000 mile) warranty, but no such luck with my 2.4L V4. I've heard that dealerships will charge >$850 for this repair, so I am very glad I was able to DIY it.It's a pain, but simple process to replace. You do -not- have to take off the intake manifold. There is a bracket with 4 bolts on the underside of the motor just above the oil filter that needs to be moved out of the way. From there, you can disconnect the oil pressure switch from the wiring harness. If there is oil in the wiring harness connection, then the switch was bad and needed replaced. To replace the switch, you need a 23 mm or 15/16" deep socket and a long ratchet or socket extension. There will be a bit of struggle to get everything to fit in a tight space, and you will be working blind for some of it. Replace the old with the new switch, torque to ~15 ft-lbs or just past hand tight. The threads are small and fragile, plus they are tapered (threads will not go all the way in). It took me about 30-45 minutes from start to finish.Good luck!

Confirm sensor issue before purchase.
While taking a co-worker home one night. I had to come to an abrupt stop as I had missed the turn to their home. The oil light on my 2016 Kia Soul+ began to flicker at idle and stopping (intersections and the like) Got it home quick, let the engine cool for a few minutes and see what the oil level was. Thinking maybe the inertia from the stop spazzed out the sensor and maybe it'll settle itself in a few hours. (It didnt) Oil level was ok, used a code reader to check if a code was popping up (didn't have a check engine light, but that don't stop codes from flashing) no code. Jump on a Kia forum and find that the oil pressure sensor has a particular habit of failure across the Soul line and various other Hyundai and Kia models. Didn't have a oil pressure gage to check if I had proper PSI in the oil pump. So I made the call and ordered this sensor. It was a 15 minute teardown of the splash guard and 10 minutes of removal and install. On the '16 Soul it's right behind the oil filter, so it may be hard to see. Some oil may drip out during removal, I lost probably 8oz during the removal. My mechanic said in her opinion since that much oil came out she believes it was the sensor failing because it should be drips and not Oz's that came out. Fired it up and let it idle with the AC on for 20 min, no oil light drove around for 20 min, but went to work the next day and drove all day probably about 80 miles in all. Seems to be holding. There may be a tourqe spec for it, just get it snug it's got sealer on the threads. Don't over tighten it'll break and you'll be back to square one.

Kia Factory Part - Fixes Common Oil Leak
This is a factory Kia oil pressure sending unit used on many Kia cars. It’s a common failure point where oil will leak from the plastic housing and your oil pressure light will occasionally come on at idle. I have two 2017 Kia Sportages and both failed within a few months of each other so these were a welcome fix considering the dealer price is 4x what Amazon charged. As for changing this sending unit, it’s not terribly hard but takes some patience. Remove the lower skid plate/belly pan and then from underneath remove the metal brace that supports the intake and connects to the block directly in the way of removing the sending unit. Once that metal brace is out of the way, it’s possible to remove the sending unit. The hardest part for me was getting the wiring unclipped from the old one prior to removal.

Factory Kia Part
Not much else to say this is a factory Kia Part. It works great on the 2.0L Kia Soul engine. And for anyone looking for the placement on the 1.6L and 2.0L engines it is located right next to the oil filter.
