Works Great
I used my new Bissel ProHeat 2X carpet cleaner for the first time yesterday and was thoroughly impressed. First off. It was packaged securely and was very easy to assemble. Only 2-3 easy steps if I recall (I put it together 2 weeks ago). Only took about 5 minutes to assemble. The machine itself seems very well made and sturdy. The handle is aluminum which I feel is a plus as I have had 2-3 carpet sweepers in the past in which the handle eventually broke. This will not get used as much as a sweeper but I was happy to see that the handle is aluminum and not all plastic like the conventional carpet sweepers I've used, and broken, in the past. The machine is very easy to operate with very few settings. You basically fill the tank with hot water and some cleaning solution (2 samples provided), set the cleaner to the preferred cleaning mode (I chose the "Max Clean" mode) and off you go. The machine appears to have very good suction power. I tend to "over-do" things a little and applied a little extra water/cleaning solution to some high traffic areas. The vacuum sucked up the dirty water really well and the carpet felt only a little damp. You can see the water drawing up from the nozzle. Needless to say I was a bit surprised at how dirty the water was in the dirty water tank. I had no idea that my carpet was that dirty.... and I've been told that "my house is always so clean." I live alone, I have a dog that does not shed much at all, and the carpets are in a place that most traffic goes through hardwood floors before reaching the carpet... so most dirt is "knocked off" by the time it reaches the carpet. I assumed that my carpets were pretty clean. I vacuumed the carpets really good before using this carpet cleaner. The machine kept pulling up small clods of dirt/dog hair/clothing particles/carpet fibers that must have been worked down into the carpet. I thought this was very impressive.... although I did have to stop and clean the machine a few times so that I would get the maximum performance from the vacuum... but to see what it pulled out of the carpet... it was worth the little effort it took to clean the nozzle and the brush rolls. I always thought the sweeper got all of this sort of stuff but apparently these things get ground down into the carpet over time. My carpets look brand new. All in all this was very easy to set up, operate and clean up when finished. You'll be amazed at the dirt you pull out of your carpets... I know I was... and I feel much better about how clean they are today. I'll be sure to use the machine occasionally to stay on top of the dirt and because it was fun to use. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the dirtiest I would say that my carpets were around a 5... and the dirt I got out was amazing. So... some touch-ups once in a while will be a big help and there is an Express Clean mode just for that purpose . I highly recommend this carpet scrubber.

Unit has an American adaptor, which cannot be used directly in Australia without a convertor!
This is unacceptable. You do highlight that it has an American Adaptor and that it will not work in Australia without a convertor. Please note a convertor is completely different to an adaptor. It's not really fair that you do not highlight at the time of purchase. It is however hidden, under product reviews. So many customers saying the same thing. Shame on you!

Blew up and tripped the house
Loved the product but why are you selling the incorrect voltage on a Singapore site. It blew up the steam cleaner, the plug and tripped the electrics in the house. Dangerous and illegal under the sale of goods act. Am waiting for a response.

BIG improvement over previous models...but still not quite perfect
I had one of the earlier Bissels for a number of years. It was a work horse and it did a good job, but the bladder for clean water floating in the tank of dirty water was disgusting and, for a dog owner, it was impossible to clean properly. This new model (I've no idea how many have come between), is much smarter, easier to use, and more effective. And the cleaning solutions are better, too. Having the clean tank sit atop the dirty water tank is easier, neater, and better balanced to handle. Being able to clean out the dirty water tank completely is a major step forward. And being able to lift off the clear cover over the rollers is a plus. But....you still can't lift out or easily move the rollers to untangle trapped dog hair, and the cover still can't be opened, though with a bit of effort the funky strip of plastic provided to fish out clumps of hair and fiber works okay. I believe both these issues are addressed on the Pet Pro (?--the top of the line pet model), but when I was looking, those two improvements were going to cost me over $100 more. I still haven't decided whether going for this model was the best idea because it seems to me, after so many years for working on the thing, Bissel shouldn't charge that much more for something they should have figured out years ago.The hose attachment process was a huge improvement, but the "pet" attachment, which had hard rubber cones I suppose were supposed to loosen up the dog hair, was clunky to handle and didn't do a thing on my dense carpets. The standard brush was....a standard brush. It got the job done, but is essentially unchanged from the one that came with the first Bissel I bought almost twenty (?!!!) years ago.All that said, if you have carpets, this is a truly excellent balance between paying hundreds and hundreds more for one of the pro machines, or saving a hundred bucks and buying another brand that won't last as long or work half as well. In short, It's a good machine, a good value, and I'd buy it again, without hesitation. Though if it lasts as long as my old Bissel, I probably won't have to. By that time, I'll either be rich enough to have full time maids, or dead of old age (and I know which option is more likely!)

Fast but no rinse. 4 star only because of the tank full line.
TLDR This one makes you dump the dirty water a lot but cleans very well.No rinse cycle. The dirty water reservoir clicks in but the clean one does not it sits on top and does not click (I wish it clicked because it means I did it right) After my Hoover died on me I got this shampooer. I’ve had good experiences with Bissell products. This shampooer does clean and has 3 settings. Quick, deep, and extra sanitizer. I used the middle setting on the carpets, but I noticed that the dirty water tank gets full fast. I thought I had already broken it. But the full line is only half of the bottom tank. Which it is easy to take out, use the side flap to dump, and put back….. but I don’t see why it couldn’t fill more especially seeing how much room is in there still. The express wash doesn’t use a lot of water per the instructions but my setting used a good amount. The samples only gives two full clean water canisters which only did about 10ft 10ft of my carpets that aren’t super high carpets. But I guess that’s what a sample is for…. to sample. I had extra from my hoover and after finishing I remembered that on my hoover there was a wash setting and a rinse setting…. This one only has the normal wash and dry strokes. I guess I will come back and edit this review when my floor dries and it’s sticky feeling or not. It cleans well every dump of water was gross and my carpets weren’t dirty to the eye. I think the heat of the shampooer and power lifts everything from the bottom up. It was quick to use and not super bulky. And it seems to be very study and well made.Edit. No sticky carpet!
