Add this to your essential medical library
No nonsense, concise, well written, practical information for those who regularly deal with patients on mechanical ventilation.

If you’re a nurse you probably don’t need this book.
I tried to be cute and buy this book 1st instead of the ventilator book that was a mistake. I would recommend reading the ventilator book before reading the advanced ventilator book although this book was very informative as a nurse I only really needed to know the information presented in the ventilator book. The one useful thing about this book was that it talked about ECMO which prior to reading that chapter I had very little to no understanding about. Some of the other chapters had a lot of equations and chemistry in them that as a nurse you don’t need to know.

Excellent primer for the ICU clinician.
Not the ultimate reference, but a well reasoned compendium of respiratory care with heavy focus on ARDS. Helpful for nurses, doctors, and students alike.

Great review for anyone working with ventilators
Greater depth than the introduction book, very clear and well explained. Great review for anyone working with ventilators, the Kindle version is best for me.

Good continuation of the first book
Well written, up to date, and readable. Not an in depth pathophysiology book, just what to do and why you should do it.

A good book for ICU beginners, doctors and nurses alike. It provides the basic knowledge to set up and adjust mechanical ventilation. An easy read, drives home the basics. Highly suggested for anyone even laying eyes on a ventilator!

Too basic - definitely not advanced. Okay for nurses but not for doctors.
