Amarine Made (2x) Stainless Tournament Style Clamp on Fishing Rod Holder for Rails 1" to 1-1/4" Rail Mount Rod Holder

Was expecting different mounting clamps (round or square); apparently the clamps will work with either - mostly mine worked (I had mixed mounting) with some added cushioning. Bolts (as mentioned in another review) are zinc coated pot metal (?), would advise to replace with SS.

I guess they look great in the box?

Very nicely made, but unclear as to what materials were used. The clamp base attached to the tube is clearly some type of bronze, the color suggests silicon bronze. Which means the bronze is plated. Since the clamp base is the same color as the tube, it suggests that entire unit is plated. With what? My guess is hard electroless nickel. The outer part of the clamp is clearly stainless. How long will this last? I have no idea. At about $20 each, I can take a chance. I waxed them with 3M marine wax, which will help. Waxing twice a year will maintain any stainless, nickel not as well. Time will tell.I threw away the "stainless" bolts supplied, as they looked like garbage. Go to Home Depot and buy a couple of 18-8 (304) stainless socket heads, and make sure you use anti-seize, otherwise they may not come off years from now.

To be honest, I did not expect this level of quality at this price. This a a heavy weight, highly polished, stainless steel rod holder that is a great addition to any boat, and one that you will be proud of. This would cost three times the price at the monster boat retailers like West Marine and Bass Pro Shops. If you are shopping for clamp on the rail rod holders, look no further.

they will fit 1 1/4" square tube on my pontoon boat, had to buy 2 1/2" hardware to make it work but these rod holder seem to be very nice. Tuff to find rod holder for pontoon 1 1/4" square tube. I install a total of 4 and i'm ordering more

Adding some type of rail protector (rubber or plastic) would be nice.

Love these things. They're nicely finished, quality stainless, and rugged - I expect them to last me a very long time.

I use these angled outward on the t top for trolling. My factory t top only came with vertical rod holders. Also have a few on the bow rail and one on my bait station for rigging lines or just to hold a rod while dehooking fish. What I like about these is that I can move them around or change the angle to fit my needs.
