I really love the high quality of the book and how fast i got it !!!!!! it is awesome that i can get the book that i love the most after so many years !!!!!!

I have read/used three of the Pottery Barn books listed in order of my opinion of them: Baths, Living Rooms, and Bedrooms. Baths was very good, with beautiful photographs, interesting and innovative ideas, and some useful design advice. Most of the book provided a several page showcase for an individual bath with discussion of what made it special. Living rooms was OK. It's content was more canned, but it still had some inspiration and enough ideas that were useful that although I would not put it amongst the best such books, it was worth an hour or two to browse. Bedrooms hit the bottom of the list for me. The content seemed especially canned. The ideas were not fully developed and most of them appeared to me more appropriate to someone's first apartment than an established home (so it just needs the right audience?). Lot's of the pictures involved just using eclectic pieces and did not involve actually developing a decorative theme.

A really workable guide book for living room decoration, including layout setup, room atmosphere with different color choice and light effect. Follow this guide, you can easily create a nice American style living room without trouble.

Like all the books from Pottery Barn, good quality...give you a lot of ideas, another one for my collection of Pottery Barn books....thanks again!

Even at $3.98 it's a waste of $3.97! The book's copyright is 2003 and not that it doesn't contain lovely photographs of PB styled rooms, but rge information and photo room styling is so out of date there's just nothing here that's relevant to today. I looked through mine one time and donated it to my local Goodwill store.

I own a few of these now, purely because I have an obsession with Pottery Barn and, as we don't have one in this country (yet), I'm content begging friends and family to bring me back their store catalogues from America or Dubai, and snapping up these books for inspiration. I wouldn't have said there are a lot of practical style tips necessarily. For instance, we live in a very small and modern home with little storage and so a lot of the rooms don't resonate with me purely on size and practicality however, as someone who doesn't have a natural ability to put colours and textures together in a aesthetically pleasing way, this does help me by way of inspiration. Also, its just a really pretty coffee table book. On a side note, there are a lot of Pottery Barn enthusiasts on Pinterest who have boards that offer design advice on how to recreate the Pottery Barn look which might be worth a look if you want to familiarise yourself with Pottery Barn's style and also there are loads of DIY tutorials on the site if you were of a creative disposition.

Pottery Barn シリーズの中でもイチオシ。 とってもハンプトンズしています。イメージは表紙通りで他にも ニューヨークらしいリビングがたくさん載っています。 小物使いやディスプレイはもちろんの事ですが Benjamin Mooreのペイント使いも参考になります。 色のトーンがいかに大切かを教えてくれる本です。 個人的には"101 Living Rooms" よりも こちらの方が見ごたえがあり好きです。
