OTTERBOX Strada Series for Samsung Galaxy S8+ - Retail Packaging - Burnt Saddle (Burnt Saddle/CHAPSHAIR Leather)

It is a nice simple design, in both form and function. Holds my 8S+ securely. Cover closes nicely and stays close with magnet. Screen is protected when phone is in my pocket. Good value, have only had it a few days, so I can't attest to durability, but it seems well made and if it lasts a few years, it was worth it. I was happy with my last Otterbox, it lasted a long time but it needed to be replaced. This time I wanted a case that closes. I am happy with what I chose. Time will tell on durability, but it is an Otterbox. Overall, it is not a tank, but does provide a level of protection that I am happy with. If your number one concern is impact resistance, you may want to spend more on a beefier case, but I am happy with it. To mention a few things I was concerned about before I got it was. 1) Would I be able to speak and hear clearly with the case closed when using my phone? Answer is YES, just as if it weren't in a case. 2) Would the case affect the volume, if listening to music, etc? Answer is NO, volume is good. 3) Would it be easy to connect charger, aux cord? Answer is YES, easy to connect. 4) Would it be easy to hold/handle? Answer is YES, easy to hold when you are on the phone with lid closed and when lid is open viewing the screen. As a final note, I don't usually write a long review like this, but I find myself using reviews more and more when buying things, and hopefully the next person finds this helpful in making a decision.

I was looking for a wallet/folio style case for a long time and finally decided to spend a little more money and try the OtterBox brand. I actually ended up loving this case. It looks absolutely beautiful and feels great to hold. It adds a ton of grip and lets me feel so much better about being able to put my phone down on any surface and have it not just be sitting on the glass. My BIGGEST positive about this case is that it is still possible to use the fingerprint sensor very easily because of the curve that the case has on the back. It was actually impossible to use the fingerprint sensor with a lot of other cases I tried.The card slot seems like a gimmick. The front flap is very thin and probably would struggle to close securely with more than one card in there. I never use the flap for any storage though so that's not a big deal for me. I just like the soft micro-fiber-like material that closes against the screen. Overall, I love the case despite it costing 30+ dollars.I think people have a misconception about cases. I've only ever dropped a phone once in my life and my screen shattered but I didn't blame the case. A case isn't meant to protect against every single drop. Just because you have a case on your phone doesn't mean you can toss it around and expect it to be okay. I buy a case for the added grip and protection from scratches mainly. Don't expect a case to do miracles, this phone is mainly made of glass. Any serious drops are going to make it break, just be careful!

I've had plastic hard cases with belt clips since owning the s8+. Working in construction it's good to have a sturdy case. However with it sticking out the phone tends to get caught on things and falling on the ground .So keeping in pocket is the the alternative.One of my relatives has this case for iphone.I liked the leather look and feel, without losing too much durability.Found options for my phone, several are available . I purchased this one because I know Otterbox is dependable brand .Fits perfectly, stays snug, is durable, looks sleek.Magnet open close is convenient , and front flips completely around to back.The only drawback ,taking a picture is awkward. You must hold front cover away from lens while taking photos .The same would most likely apply for any folding cover.Other than that, overall Excellent product.

First - it is really beautiful - bought a brown one for wife and black for myself - can't say which color I like better both really sharp and classy. Samsung 8+ fits perfectly in case and adding a glass screen protector - I recommend the amFilm brand over the MyBat - the amfilm went on right the first time, a perfect fit and strong adhesive, also fits perfectly with Otterbox Strata Case, the MyBat doesn't fit as well, adhesive is weak and because the protector doesn't fit correctly, when placed in Otterbox it moves and comes loose - did not use it because of this. The OtterBox is strong, leather exterior but does add a little bulk but it also has a built in pocket on inner cover that can comfortably hold 2, maybe 3 cards. I have my ATM card, Driver's License and 1 credit card - better with 2 rather than 3. I also use wireless chargers - one table top model at home (phone lays flat on top) and the second which is the one I was concerned with - with Otterbox Strada is the one in my car that holds phone vertically with magnets while it charges - model Scosche Magic Mount Pro charge. This is the best wireless charger / holder on the market today - period, But it is not cheap - u get what u pay for. Does it hold the giant size Samsung S8+, yes no problem, does it hold that same phone with the heavy duty and thick Otterbox Strata case? Surprisingly - YES it does, even on bouncy roads - lining up the phone properly on the magnetic holder/charger so it charges is a matter of 3/16" play side to side and up/down - fortunately the Samsung beeps when charging has started - once it starts don't move the phone and your fine - so lining it up has to be done carefully don't recommend playing with it while driving. Second issue is cover while driving and using the phone for navigation - depending on where you mount holder u can use dashboard to hold cover open, the more stuff (cards) u place in front cover the harder it is to keep it open while hanging vertically on a magnetic holder - rubber band helps keeping cover open and prevent from swinging open and close while car is moving. But cover itself has a built in magnet to hold cover closed or open (completely folded back to expose full screen on phone) but with the extra thickness of the cover - magnetic holder/charger won't work through all that leather. - If you use phone for navigation I would recommend a mechanical phone holder (Vertical holder) with some sort of clips/pressure pads to hold phone rather than magnets and wired charging rather than wireless. My Navigation is separate from phone - and a large built in screen - so my phone is used for backup navigation (cause my navigation software in 11 years old) and for normal calls and texts through car Bluetooth interface (handsfree phone operation).First unit (black) had some scratches on the leather - it was replaced with a new one by Amazon free of charge with days no return shipping charge either. Replacement Black OtterBox and 1st Brown one were perfect.Wife dropped phone a few times with new cover - no damage to phone or cover - it is very well built - fits perfectly, camera, finger print scanner, and all other functions that go thru the cover (buttons, etc..) all work the same as without the cover - totally transparent as far as Galaxy S8+ is concerned.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED especially if you need a wallet style cover with maximum phone/screen protection and the ability to store a couple of cards/license to boot!!!Chris

Esta funda la compre para el celular de mi madre hace 11 meses y la verdad a durado mucho al uso rudo que se le da al celular, pues al sacarlo de la funda se ve como nuevo, lo protege exageradamente bien.

This works well: slim, good looking & as protective as you can probably get with the S8+, given it's curved screen. I've paired it with a rigid glass cover plate (Color brand). I've dropped the phone on concrete, asphalt roads & wood floors with no damage done to case or phone.When I purchased in July it appeared to come in black only; they now offer brown. I purchased a brown equivalent from Guangzhou Wenyi, which looks great but I think the Otterbox has a slightly higher lip on top & bottom of the screen (so slightly more protective) - but the difference is very slight.Update March 2019: still going strong; no damage to case or phone despite daily use with occasional drops onto concrete. Minor wear now on the inside of the cover: the suede-like PU interior lining is starting to break off where the cover bends around the phone or under the magnetic "latch", but the exterior looks new. Paired nicely with the Color-branded glass screen protector. I'm a fan.

Well when its time to say something about otterbox, aah leave damn its otterbox go for it. Best quality and fits pretty well. Worth buying it

The case fits my s8+ well with useful card slot. The card slot is especially handy holding a public transport card. Overall case looks durable with good drop protection hard plastic and leather... will see how it holds up over time
