These sticks surprised me! Smooth wood, nice weight and grip for my 'medium' woman's hand, and held up to washing by hand and dishwasher. While Ive been using chopsticks for seven decades and prefer a completely smooth chopstick, the grooved wood at the eating end is an innovation that makes picking up food easy, but creates an interesting taste texture. I can even eat Italian meatballs, sauce, and mashed potatoes in 'style';).
