For the price you can’t go wrong

I needed an unusually long bread knife to cut my homemade bread in the bread slicing apparatus I'd bought earlier. This is the longest knife I could find on Amazon OR ebay. I had reservations about purchasing it because a few reviewers claimed it was "too bendy." I imagined a knife that was very flimsy and perhaps even worthless for what I needed it for, however, since I had no other immediate choice to find an equally long knife anywhere else I bought it. I found this knife to work very well. The "bendy" thing ... I don't know ... I don't see it. This knife is very long and doesn't seem bendy at all, considering its length. Some other reviewers bought this knife to perform other duties besides slicing bread--I can't voutch for them, but for its intended use, slicing bread, for me, it works wonderfully.

It’s a little bit flimsy, but it’s good

I needed a long bread knife to cut sourdough bread. The length is great. The only problem was the metal sturdiness was flimsy. I could not cut straight thru the bread. The knife kept bowing one way or the other. Other than that it works well on regular loaf bread.

Works great for large loaves like sourdough.

Whole knife is 18 but blade is only 14. The reason I bought it was the 18” long in the product description. False advertising

18 inch knife Not an 18 inch blade. Blade is approximately 14 inches overall knife length is 18 inches. Was looking for a really long slicing knife to minimize short sawing strokes for my large rustic bread loves 11 to 13 inches in diameter think width of a half sheet pan. The blade is not as ridged or as tall as my other slicers this affects the straightness of the slices. The handle is to small for my large hands. A flexible blade is desires in a boning knife not in a slicer when straight uniform slides are desired.

Perfect for what I bought it for Love that it’s so long

Pros: This is a really nice long knife for slicing bread, so it does its job. Cons: Not suitable for sourdough or heavier breads as the blade flexes.
