Machine will make 2 long beeps after 10 minutes of inactivity and will turn off. Turn OFF and then back ON again to continue. Insert Thread Cartridge at an angle with tip end first. Important: Thread should be at least 6 cm / 2.5 inches long. Click into place. Make sure PLAY/PAUSE switch is on the PAUSE (II) before beginning. Important: Make sure your machine has the Stitch N Style logo facing you when you are sewing.

Does this work with fabric we purchase from a fabric store? Or does it work only with the fabric that's in the box purchased from your store?

You can use your own light fabric. Avoid thick material, such as denim.
