The pets in the Animal Jam Series 1 list are unlocked by redeeming exclusive codes that come with the toys. Some toys are designated with a special category such as "Rare", "Diamond", "Gem", and "Ultra Rare". Normal pets reward a gift of 500 Gems, "Rare" pets reward a gift of 1,000 Gems, "Gem" pets reward a gift of 2,000 Gems, "Diamond" pets reward a gift of 3 Diamonds, and "Ultra Rare" pets can reward a promotional pet.
